To Protect and to Serve II

Hey jackass, just because some politician declared something to be illegal, doesn't place any moral responsibility upon anyone to obey.

Serve a f'ing death notice to a family who just lost a loved one by a drunk driver, maybe then you'll understand just where the F I'm coming from.

Be free. Do whatever the F you want, where ever you want but there are consequences to all the stupid bullsh*t actions you've moaned about on here in ever civilized country in the world.

But my guess is you're afraid of actually acting upon your supposed principles because you're too afraid of said consequences, you just prefer to b*tch behind a keyboard.

Be a man. Grow a pair. Go try your Sovereign citizenry. You'll go far in life, I'm sure.

Are you daring him to get drunk and drive to Vegas, or what?

See, you're the ****ing idiot. I'm not a sovereign citizen. What did it say you blithering pig? If persons or property is damaged that is a crime. See, I accept consequences. I'm just not willing to ruin someone's life who hasn't hurt anyone, unlike you.

Sigh...read this slowly...if they weren't drunk in the first place, said damage to person or property would have never happened, hence the reason for the law.

Justify your bs any way you like, fact remains people drive drunk everyday, and nothing happens. People drive distracted everyday, and nothing happens. The fact also remains that 35,000 people die on the roads every year. It's a very dangerous activity. Do I participate in driving drunk or distracted? No, I don't.

When you place the key in your ignition and turn the switch, you assume the risks of the road. Failing to obey an arbitrary number on a sign or having too much of a certain substance in your blood shouldn't be a crime until damage is caused. Anything other than that is pre-crime.

You're right, DTH, excuse me...you don't want people to die, you just want to legalize the action that caused their death in the first place.

And you want to play nanny state. People die every day, whether we like it or not.

Driving drunk has been illegal for quite some time, last time I checked people still drive drunk. Hurray for the law!

So that tin foils hat of yours, the cheap dollar store brand or the Reynolds Heavy Duty?

I'd wager the heavy duty...that head of yours is bound to be huuuuge with all of that intellect to store within it.

I've told you, you are the one who has the completely self-contradictory belief system. If anything, I'm consistent. I don't use violence to solve my problems, only for self defense. Your profession, and your political masters are the kings of violence. Or is that a conspiracy theory?

I've lost a loved one to a habitual drunk driver, the laws as written and enforced DO NOT ****ING WORK!

Only drunk crashing should result in DUI and the penalties should be harsh, extremely harsh. They should absolutely include automatic jail time, years not a weekend. However DUI checkpoints and .08 BALs do little to nothing to stop actual drunk drivers, they just line the pockets of the state, legal profession and insurance companies.

As a LEO of course you should get a drunk driver off the road should you pull one over for swerving or driving erratically but it should be treated the same if the driver was sober meaning a reckless driving ticket!

So every vehicle crash is the result of a drunk driver?

Come on you can make a better argument than that.

I am sincerely sorry for your loss. A good friend buried her son at 19, after being paralyzed from the chest down since he was 4 because his dad got behind the wheel after he was drinking.

Driving drunk or impaired is, at best, a contributing factor, at worst, the direct cause of vehicle deaths where a driver was driving while impaired.

And no, our criminal justice system is not perfect, news flash, I know.

Then don't call people dumbasses for wanting to change it.

These people still can't seem to wrap their feeble minds around this oh so simple concept. How is it any different than arresting someone for a "pre-crime"?

If the police is aware that a crime is going to be attempted they stop them now. There is no difference.

I disagree...People are idiots that drive drunk with all the options available to get home safely. Getting distracted is not the same as making a conscience decision to put others life at risk by your actions.

If the aim was to actually prevent people from driving drunk the cops would sit in the parking lot at the local bar offering breathalyzers and calling cabs. But instead they choose to set up a checkpoint a mile down the road.

Plenty of municipalities have even went so far as banning über and lyft. Those market solutions could be a great help, if they were allowed to operate in all cities.

Making drunk or impaired driving legal is stupid. Period.

Defining the arrest of an impaired driver, before they've actually managed to kill someone, as a pre-crime is stupid. Period.

Bad driving is what we should be concentrating on, drunk or sober.

Still wont admit that the way DUI laws are enforced has nothing to do with prevention, will ya?

What, specifically, do you not agree with, the court's enforcement of it or LE? Or, rather, what would you like me to address?
