To Protect and to Serve II

Hopefully you don't need us but, when you do, we'll respond.

No thanks. I'm already extorted enough through federal income tax and state property tax.

However, I would like to say, I have nothing against you or any cop for that matter. Because, people are individuals, it's your profession I do not support. Preventive policing is the most asinine idea that a supposed free people have came up with imo.

"Support"?

Darren Wilson was exonerated of any wrongdoing and has yet to find employment in law enforcement elsewhere.

The "support" we get is either from the FOP or PBA.

I don't even know who Darren Wilson is.

I'm not an avowed cop hater like some, there are good ones and then there are bad ones. It's the perception of the general public that the good ones often stand in that big blue line in defense of the bad ones. That is what needs to change in either reality or perception.

Law enforcement is a necessity and there will always be a need for people to enforce the law. I personally wouldn't do it because I would not enforce laws I find objectionable on normally good people who happen to have made a mistake.

Extortion?

"Supposed free people...?"

Please, tell me of this utopian society or nation without laws or taxes that you'd prefer our country be modeled after and maybe then I'll take you seriously.

So should we expect protests/riots on April 16 for the sentencing hearing of Peter Liang? The DA has recommended no jail time for him...

Not to mention it is apparently happening on a Saturday.

To obtain money by threat of violence is extortion, i.e. Taxation.
I say supposed free people because America as a concept was a great idea, until the constitution gave the government the ability to tax.

I've never stated I didn't want laws, I've always said I don't want rulers. I.e. A political ruling class. It's funny that you call me a utopian, when it's the limited government type who puts all the guns and decision making power in the hands of government, then says 'limit yourself' you sir, are the impractical utopian.

I never had the honor of serving in the military but I serve (publicly) with those who have...there's a brotherhood in law enforcement that is comparable, if not identical, to the military. I say that with the utmost respect and reverence to veterans.

Supporting your brother or sister in blue can be done without condoning their nefarious actions, should they screw up. You can serve with integrity for decades only to have your career flushed away in a moment of poor judgment.

There's a distinct and drastic difference between serving with integrity and working the job without integrity--notice the difference between service and working.

I support those who serve with integrity, not those who do not.

Here it is.

Okay, it appears a program that was started in conjunction with police has done good things. I've always said when you get the community involved with policing and taking responsibility for their own safety and security, it's a win-win situation. He does bring up some decent points that LEO training has a lot of fear basis to it.

Good on Mister Brown for recognizing the unique niche his company fills. I will say Detroit as the example might not be helping matters. It has been a bastion of corruption and apathy for a long time, but the same could be said of any major metro area.

Uh huh...so what country has this model?

Uh, pretty much all human history up until the rise of the centralized state. Whether you realize it or not, we're all anarchists already. Anarchy is in your daily life in every moment of every day. You don't have anyone there selecting what your should wear, what you should eat, or anything else. I know that's rather simplistic, but, anarchy is about freedom of the individual. Collectives do not have rights, only individuals.

Of course, because they are individuals at the end of the day. It's the profession....

Well, first step accomplished. Now the next lesson:

Eventually you'll learn the profession of law enforcement isn't quite the evil you make it out to be.

You've had too much internet.

Yes it is. It's funded by taxation, taxation is theft at a very basic level. I do not support taxation, therefore I cannot support the fruits of that theft i.e. Police.

And once again, you missed (ignored) the quote that led to that post.

Said strawman was created. Said strawman was set on fire.

Lol... Once again GV knocks all the pieces on to the floor and then struts around the room as if he's won the game.

How cute.

You can argue the point (good luck) or just STFU. Making childish comments like this just shows the fallacy of your argument.

Haha so I believe people should be free and you tell me I've had too much internet. Lovely.

Please, cite examples and expound on how tyrannical and oppressive this government has become and how you and I are affected by this, as individuals.
