And of those LEO involved shootings, how many were deemed justified?

NB4 the system is corrupt.

Deemed justified by whom? The cops? LOL...

Unless you're arguing all of those 1100 were innocent little angels posing no threat to anyone then this retort is meaningless.

I (nor I'd wager anyone) is arguing all LEO shootings are justified but just posting raw numbers without any context doesn't really make any useful argument.

If someone is shooting at you, you don't feel they have the inherent right to shoot back?
That is not my argument. I posted the link and asked the question who is really in more danger? Who's most likely to die in a confrontation between cops and civilians?

"Confrontation..."

What are the circumstances, is there a weapon, is a weapon suspected to be on the subject, is he/she actively resisting, if so, how?

There are literally dozens of thousands of "confrontations" that DO NOT end up with someone dead.

The proof is in the pudding. The total number of cop deaths vs civilian deaths speaks for itself. The narrative that has been woven by the fake news media and cop apologists is that LE officers are dropping like flies out here.

I don't even have the numbers in front of me, but I bet more truck drivers were killed last year than cops.

I'll say this, politicians don't do cops any favors with all the stupid laws on the books.

Both of us have been saying that all along. However, the police unions and the officers themselves can do a lot to help their own cause by standing up to the lawmakers and not enforcing laws that are unconstitutional or nuisance/nitpicky.

Go incident by incident and I think you'll find the overwhelming majority are justified and legal.

But then, I know with whom I'm speaking so the definition of the term "justified" dramatically differs from mine.

I never heard one cop group come out and make the case for enforcing fewer laws and lessening the burden on them.

That's because we already have discretionary powers to choose when to enforce them, so long as they're misdemeanors.

Edit: And abides by departmental policy

Personally I don't want cops deciding what's constitutional or not.

Let's be honest here, it comes down to your rights vs their pension plan. If they don't enforce the laws, they aren't a cop very long.
