To Protect and to Serve II

FORT SMITH, Ark. -
A federal investigation is ongoing at five Fort Smith businesses, according to police and federal authorities.

Agents from the FBI, IRS, and USDA worked with Fort Smith police, according to Dennis Holenstein with the IRS Criminal Investigations division. He says warrants were issued from the Western District Court of Arkansas.

On Tuesday morning, there was a heavy police presence at two gas stations: the Fenny's on Fresno and Towson and the Valero on Grand Avenue and Albert Pike. Several vehicles, including police cars, blocked the entrances to the stations.

The subject of the investigation is unknown.

40/29 News is working to gather more information on the investigation.

There's two common denominators.

All excepted ebt cards and the owners

Now, isn't ebt state? Or federal hence USDA?

Women, drugs, food stamps, etc all being sold or traded.

One of the stores is the kind of place where you can go in and pay your utilities. They were taking money for said bills and not issuing payment. Folks lights would get turned off.

One person had their debit card used 52 times in two days. The cops couldn't do anything about it due to poor cameras in the store.

Lovely.

There's been issues around these parts in the past where the Feds have had to step in due to corruption.

One was a small town in Oklahoma on the state line. The cops would pull you over, charge you with dui unless you paid them on the spot. Arkies were the ones mostly targeted coming back from the Cherokee casino. Well it got to the point the Arkies would have the okie cop behind them with lights and sirens blaring. They would call ft smith cops. They were instructed to continue on to Arkansas. Once they crossed the bridge the city cops would arrest the Oklahoma City cops. Lol.

This deterred it some. Finally the FBI came in and shut them down. No more cops.

Cops arresting other cops? I love it!

We have great police officers here in ft smith. The deputy's on the sheriffs department are outstanding as well.

Only riff we have had between the agency's is open carry. It's legal here but the police chief didn't want to honor it. The sheriff said no one would be detained or arrested for open carrying.

Once the sheriff spoke up, it calmed down pretty quick.

I'll withhold my comments lol cheers OB.

By the by, have you thought any more on the issue of you not supporting taxation, yet, supporting cops, who are funded by taxation. Quite the quandary.

I hate taxes but I understand the need. Maybe a necessary evil?

Cops are just like you and me for the most part. I've had them in my home (invited) and they help the kids where my son shoots trap. I've been pulled over and advised of a faulty light and told to have a good day and they go back to their job.

Unfortunately we live in a society where they are needed. I don't believe there is a alternative.

Necessary evil is still evil, no?

I understand some cops are good people, it's their profession I have a problem with. When I say they are the pointy end of politics, there really is no other way to put it. Without cops, and the military, politicians would have 0 power over the citizenry.
I used to believe government was evil and I came to realize that government isn't my enemy, it's the belief of the people in government that legitimizes government.

So let us understand the quandary...

The classic I don't know know what move to make next so I'm simply gonna knock all the pieces on the ground and strut around as if I've won the game.

Nope, I could tell that, no matter what was said by either party, we were going to disagree. So, instead of wasting his time and mine, I chose to agree to disagree before even choosing to begin a debate.

Classic, I know...

Fair enough... Though there's far less condescending ways to bow out of a discussion than that but okay.

It is quite classic for statist dogs to equivocate reason in lieu of answering for their peers.

And the reason why I can't buy the argument that the cops are "duty bound" is that the cops are the enforcement arm of these corrupt politicians... Yet you never see cops side with the Constitution and the people, but always side with these corrupt politicians.

Lol, thanks for the civility?

I take it you're more of a sovereign citizen, nation unto himself, Cliven Bundy type then, huh?

Nope, sovereign citizens, as well as the Bundy type, are likened to dogs who've learned to carry their own leashes.

I am a anarchist/abolitionist who opposes all forms of human slavery. Which forms of slavery do you oppose?
