Let me give this a shot..

Dear Da'Rick

If you don't want to rep the orange and respect the coaches trying to make you better.. then go kick some rocks chief

He can take his entitlement attitude and go home for sure. And to all the vets who are on Dooley for the state of the program and how he is not doing what needs to be done with Rodgers... remember your coach and his discipline record.

Sounds like Da'Rick needs to have a little sit down with the Gunny, over some tea and crumpets.

First, I am surprised the spelling police did not catch "reciever" in the OP.

Second, DR gave himself that name. His first name is David. He chose the version he uses.

Third, why do posters cheerlead for the guys that they perceive are really talented and not for those that give 100% effort and do their jobs without drama everyday? You know, like Justin Hunter and yes, Zack Rogers. Two chose the right way, the other the wrong way. Talent has nothing to do with it.

Fourth, DR was the 5th receiver choice as a freshman. Moore, Jones, Stocker, and Hunter were well ahead of him in the pecking order. The first 3 graduate, Hunter stepped up to #1 and DR to #2 by default. He stepped up to #1 by default after Hunter went down. He could not beat out any of the WR's as a freshman and was not as good as Hunter. He drops way too many passes, marginally blocks for others, and doesn't even try for passes that require great effort. His stats finished good because he was all they had that could compete at a high level in the SEC.

Fifth, I want DR to get his act together today, right now, not later. Two years of his sorry attitude is one year too many in my book. My prayer for him is God's direct intervention into his life for a life changing event to set him right with God as well as those around him and himself. That may mean he no longer plays for UT. If that is the case, so be it.

TO Da'RIck:You are a heck of a wide reciever! We as the TN fanbase want you to be successful on the football field as well as in life! I really look forward to seeing you and JH line up next year! It is shame we might not get too. We need you even though we as a fanbase can be ridiculous deep down we want you to be successful and honestly we want to win. We need you Da'rick!

My nephew (5 years old) and I were watching a TN game and "he said who is number 21 I reallly like him". Shortly after that you were standing over mr. honeybadger after a beastly play you made. I'm sure you remember that. Since he ask for a 21 jersey for Christmas.

Just the other day he ask me when it was going to be time to watch 21 play again. Did I lie to my nephew? I had to tell him there is a chance we might not see him play again and he said Why? So I talk to him about submiting to higher authority which in case was his parents and how 21 was having a problem doing with the coach or whatever it may be. He said " Well thats ok I forgive 21". Da' rick please don't make me look him in the eye later and have to tell him 21 didn't get it done.

Lets go Da' Rick! You will be better for it! Stay the course! Be the man you were called to be!

TO Players: GET AROUND DA' RICK! BE YOUR BROTHERS KEEPER! FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT! LETS GO! YOU HAVE THE ENTIRE WORLD WATCHING YOU! ESPECIALLY THESE YOUNG KIDS DON'T FAIL THEM BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY DON'T FAIL YOURSELF WHOM YOU OWE IT TO THE MOST!

To Fans:

I don't care what the mods do. There should be 1,000,000 threads started like this, and tonight or tommorrow the headlines should read fans call out Da'rick rodgers to get it done off the field and voice there support for him and dooley and the program. Let's GO!

DaRick doesn't even care about his own future much less care about all of the young fans out there. If he does, he doesn't have a clue about being successful.

It isn't for the school or the fans. It is for him. By that I mean he isn't bigger than the team. If everyone else toes the company line, then it is his responsibility to do the same, and do his part to make this team the best it can be. If not, then he becomes a cancer and destroys the team.

Da'Rick,

Vol Nation has had enough heartache, not only in football, but in multiple sports in recent years. Please don't be another source of heartache. You can be a source or pride and hope for a brighter future. We believe in you.

I can't help but sit back and compare Da'rick to Tarrell Owens, same antics, selfish person, not a team player, only thinks of Da'rick. Constantly a distraction for this team, hey I know the guy has loads of talent but do you continue to sacrific the integrity and togetherness your trying to build with this team that has yet to really come together? Im no negavol by any means, but when you have a constant problem like Da'rick you get rid of it for the good of the team.

Why are fans on here pleading like immature jilted lovers for DR to do something that he has proven he does not have the capacity or propensity to do? He, according to multiple sources, has physically threatened or challenged more than one UT coach. He chooses to miss team meetings or practices and then not only dismiss disciplinary action against him from his head coach but takes to twitter and goes outside the chain of command to make his excuses for stupid decisions and wage a battle of public opinion against his coach. Unacceptable! I don't care what his talent level is, this juvenile headcase needs to be suspended permanently and I would be more than pleased if Dooley did NOT release him from his scholarship. Make it absolutely clear he's crossed a line for the final time. This clown needs to be shown there are people in this world that will rain down unholy hell on you and can/will affect your future if you choose not to play by the rules. Talent or not, he's 15 - 20 years away from looking back and being disgusted with himself and lamenting on what he could have been or done. Why don't you give Ryan Leaf a call, DaRick? I hear he needs a friend again right about now.

First of all, it's a simple cost-benefit analysis involved here. Some people want the burn every bridge they cross and break out the hammer and smash everything that resembles a nail.

Being a hardarse all the time can bite you in the bum....especially if you are in Dooley's shoes and facing a "get it done or else" proposition. Sometimes young men grow up. Michael Floyd, at Notre Dame, had alcohol issues before his last season, but he got his act together, had a productive season without any drama and is projected as a 1st Rd WR.
