To All the Empty Head Neyland Fans

I appreciate your passion OP and everyone still a fan after the last 14 years bleeds orange. Some of us just demand better. And are coming together for action finally.

Some more bad stuff is going to come out today on how Butch is hurting the players.

This movement is about change. Let these stories come out about what Butch is ACTUALLY doing to them and then judge and say we are not true fans for wanting to take away a man who is hurting these kids.

I understand people's frustration, I been around for a long time and have seen some bad times. In the words of Bob Shoop, "We all know what is going on here." I know that Butch is toast. But I am sick to death of these whiny snowflakes who throw a tantrum if things don't go exactly the way they want and the AD and University don't ask them for permission on every decision. News flash: if you're not in the important meetings you're not important and don't needs to know. Life ain't Burger King, grow up.

You probably don't go to games any way and consider yourself a fan because you wore orange once.
You probably kneel during the National Anthem and call the police when something goes bump in the night and don't pay taxes.

You probably don't know this song,

Here's to old Tennessee, Never we'll Sever.
Pledging our Loyalty for ever and ever.
Backing our football team, never to falter.
CHEER AND FIGHT WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT, FOR TENNEESSEE!

You probably don't understand the words in bold.

What a snowflake.

OP is saying that if you don’t accept mediocrity, then you’re not a true fan.

Stupid.

Wow. Tons of assumptions in this post. Judge not lest ye be judged.

Sidenote: TENNESSEE, not TENNEESSEE

speaking of assumptions, you don't think that this is not being done on both sides with equal enthusiasm? It is MY opinion that the ones that want Butch gone do more judging of the ones who don't. Why is it that you think your more right than those that believe Butch is good for the program?

I know I dual with the "Fire Butch Crowd", but aren't we entitled to our side of the argument? why is it that you feel that your position is the only one to take on this debate?

Media only reports on the negative side of the fan's at UT, because they get a kick out of reporting their antics and comments, however, why is the other side so deliberately not heard or published?

It is my position that those that want Butch gone feed off the media's biased opinions. There are always multiple side to this debate.

It is so obvious that there are those fans than want to be associated with whatever side they feel is more right, and their opinions are more influenced by a "group think" or mob mentality.

Since 2008 it has been a "ready fire aim" and that is why Tennessee's Football program has crumbled. Sure, go ahead and blame one person, but this is the result of everyone's collective input.

The fan base has become a joke, whether your for or against Butch. We've become the source of media knives on SEC Television, from a baldheaded Bamer....what a joke. PF is telling Tennessee fans what to think, a trailer trash media talking head who ESPN uses to stir the pot in the SEC.

What ever happens, happens......I don't have any control over what Currie or the fans that disagree with my position or opinions.

I think the saddest piece I've seen is mothers and fathers dragging their young children into this chaos, how are they suppose to process the venomous statements that are made about a decent human being like Butch Jones?

The fan's have destroyed team spirit, comradery in the very essence of being a fan of anything. It has evolved into a media fest and they ae making millions off of our assumptions.

Blood is in the water, and normally the sharks show up and have the last say. Love Tennessee, but I don't love the fan base anymore.

Go Vols!!

Yeah... unless someone is blindly satisfied with whatever gets puked onto the field... they can't be as good a fan as you, right?
You probably kneel during the National Anthem and call the police when something goes bump in the night and don't pay taxes.
WOW! What a great guess. Anyone who disagrees with you is unpatriotic and a societal parasite too. You sure are a very bright clairvoyant.

Since you compared the orange to the apple... The kneeling players are disrespecting the whole country and especially those who have sacrificed for it in the name of a "social justice" issue... based on a totally false narrative. Namely that there is an epidemic of unwarranted violence against blacks by police. It simply isn't true.

While going to the game really isn't an option for me... boycotts were one of the disciplines our founders believed would help make and keep us free. Basically it uses economic choice rather than political oppression to express the will of people.

So unless you are a social justice warrior that whines that the authorities should "fix" everything that "bothers" you... you should respect the boycott as an expression of those without power to those with power in a free society.

CHEER AND FIGHT WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT, FOR TENNEESSEE!

You probably don't understand the words in bold.
Or... maybe people just don't think that phrase means "cheer and fight with all your might, for Butch Jones..."

Despite the misspelling, I believe in the essence of your message, however, the sharks will go after you with everything unholy that exist within their tormented hearts and souls. They are sooooo tired of the turmoil of UT Football, that anything less that a championship is totally and completely a failure of the HC. It's like they've turned into zombies.....the respect of human life has died, and saying hurtful and unsupported allegations is ok, because.......they can........that simple, for simple minded people............see what I did there? :)

Waxing poetic still doesn't make Butch Jones a competent football coach.

And if anything, the media is late to the Butch Jones pitchfork party. No one is taking cues from those BJ bootlickers.

Good grief, people like you are the absolute worst. If you want to go to the game, then go. If you want to burn your tickets, then burn them. And if you're gonna scold fans who won't go then you'd better direct that same energy at the university who darn sure won't lower ticket prices or give away the God knows how many unsold tickets they're gonna have this Saturday.

Then my suggestion would be to stop buying spam. Im no big time donor season ticket holder. I spent nearly 1500 for my son and i to go to Battle at Bristol.

Spend nearly 2000 taking my family of 4 to a game or two each year.

As prepared to pay whatever it cost to go to the sugar bowl last year.

It sucks that the team hasnt been better, but i dont feel cheated at all. It was my choice, and the good times with my family is worth every penny.
I respect that.

I’ve got a plan, let’s show the athletic director that we fully support Butch and the direction he is taking the team. Let’s sell out every game so they know this is the coach we want next year!

You are engaging in dishonesty. The hyperbole above crosses the line into outright lies.

The criticisms of Jones are valid. He is a football coach who did some good things to move the program from bad to mediocre. But mediocre is his ceiling. He's proven that clearly over the last 3 seasons.

Nothing "hurtful" or unsupported about it. He's lost too many games that should have been won. His record against the SEC is pathetic. His system does not work. And the one thing that people thought he really had going, recruiting, has not resulted in depth, talent, and skill on the field.

The only remaining question is whether people like you will ever be honest enough with yourselves to admit the truth... or else admit that having a championship caliber coach simply isn't important to you like it is to the rest of us.

See, there you go, discount a counter argument, we should all strive to be like you, only see one side of the equation only YOUR side. The only thing going wrong here is that you believe in a singled minded process of we speak louder than you, so, we are right and you are wrong. I have every right to have my opinion, and you don't have a right to tell me I don't. I do not see this situation like you........period.

I believe in the ideology of America.....whether you do or not, I have a God given right to disagree with anyone I want.........because, I can. This whole thing of we vs them in the UT Fan base, is so wrong it's hard to describe to anyone reasonable person.

Not dodging any responsibility for my participation is the madness, but dude..........those of you that want Butch gone are yelling so loud the message is lost in your objections to anyone that disagree......you just sound like a ragging lunatic. Not saying Butch has not made mistakes........but every coach before him has too.

CPF squandered more opportunities with a better roster than Kiffen, Dooley, and Jones......and that is a fact.

Liked and what a thoughtful and great post! I too have a hard time with the CBJ bashing because this man took over a dumpster fire and turned it around. I hate this year has turned out the way it has for CBJ but if a change is made I wish CBJ nothing but success in all facets of his life.

Turns my stomach when grown men act in a childlish manner as someone stole their GI Joe and they throw a temper tantrum and think it's going to bring their toy back.

I love UT football, always have and always will but I will never belittle anyone attached to the program to make myself feel better. If others feel like they have to do so then I offer this, "Christ felt the same ridicule you spill at CBJ, except he's just a man and didn't go through the EXTREME Hatred Christ went through, didn't bear a cross or sub come to being nailed on the cross, bear his own cross to a lone hill, to be crucified for the sins of man) and please don't get me wrong not comparing CBJ to Christ, but the hatred that is spilled out at CBJ is nothing short of hatred and that's the similarity I am referring to.

If a change is made or has to be made please do it with dignity. I've always been told by friends who have gone to neyland, we have some classy fans ,but after reading this board I see very few.

I also offer have a blessed day!

Do you really want to be standing there in the stadium when the 4th quarter is coming to a close and Southern Miss starts to celebrate beating UT on Homecoming?
