I was reading an article today on A-Z Sports about Heupel. His philosophy is not to have the attitude of "I'm the head coach and don't you forget it", but having time in his staff meetings to listen to his assistants for concerns, observations, and recommendations ... no matter how off the wall they are. Incorporate those that give the team a better chance for success and implement them. Seems to be working for him pretty good.
Now, I've had one guy accuse me of being a NegaVol. Bottom line I bleed orange, always have. My granddaddy was on the 1921 team. My Dad was in Johnny Majors ROTC class back in 1956, Dad also rode the Tennessee Walking horse at the game against Georgia Tech in 1979. Back in the 90's when we couldn't pick up a game at home on tv, I loaded up the family and checked into a hotel so I could watch the game.
Am I proud of this team under Heupel? Damn right but there are concerns in areas that I along with other PosiVols that we bring up and maybe, just maybe, the staff reads these concerns here and maybe put their collective minds to work on addressing some of the issues. There's a whole lot of football knowledge on these boards, not me for sure, but some of the things I've read from others makes sense on what the team can do to be more successful. Knowledge is power! If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
Go Vols and go kick some Tiger butt today in Baton Rouge!
