To ALL negavols!!!

I was reading an article today on A-Z Sports about Heupel. His philosophy is not to have the attitude of "I'm the head coach and don't you forget it", but having time in his staff meetings to listen to his assistants for concerns, observations, and recommendations ... no matter how off the wall they are. Incorporate those that give the team a better chance for success and implement them. Seems to be working for him pretty good.

Now, I've had one guy accuse me of being a NegaVol. Bottom line I bleed orange, always have. My granddaddy was on the 1921 team. My Dad was in Johnny Majors ROTC class back in 1956, Dad also rode the Tennessee Walking horse at the game against Georgia Tech in 1979. Back in the 90's when we couldn't pick up a game at home on tv, I loaded up the family and checked into a hotel so I could watch the game.

Am I proud of this team under Heupel? Damn right but there are concerns in areas that I along with other PosiVols that we bring up and maybe, just maybe, the staff reads these concerns here and maybe put their collective minds to work on addressing some of the issues. There's a whole lot of football knowledge on these boards, not me for sure, but some of the things I've read from others makes sense on what the team can do to be more successful. Knowledge is power! If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
Go Vols and go kick some Tiger butt today in Baton Rouge!

63 year old Vol fan here until the day I die.

It has to stop! Seriously, it's getting old! Go find another team to root for! We do not want you nor do we need you! Can't even make a post without y'all miserable pricks saying something negative! We're # effing 1in the nation in scoring offense! Yeah our defense needs work! Ray Charles can see that but come on! Let's have some fun and pump each other up! Our boys are having the time of their lives right now and so should we!! Let's celebrate the fact that we're 4-0 and not 2-2!

Stop bad mouthing people and go back under your rock!

I was 100% with you until you thought the coaches might be scouring the message boards for ideas and knowledge from the fans. If our coaches are looking for football knowledge from Volnation message boards, then we have bigger problems than our defense.

A few years ago @DougAtkins91 (since deleted account) had a presumably drunken post. He went on a fairly entertaining tangent griping about negavols.

Had some kind of line about negavols need their posts "nited", never did come back and explain it any more.

The rest of us morans couldn't resist, and it made it's way into Volnation lore.
"Nite your post or don't post!"

Yeah Negavols tend feel much better when Tennessee loses. I think a lot of them are really Trolls who are really fans of other SEC teams.

On the flip side of this thread, we need to calm down the we are gonna make the playoffs this year and win the SEC. One game at a time.

This new coach has already exceeded expectations in a short time. It’ll only get better as we recruit more

With that being said…anything is possible. In either direction

Not saying their looking for ideas
Just seeing what our concerns are and discussing amongst themselves what they can do to ensure no stone has been left unturned including keeping the base satisfied in their efforts.

95% of this VN is nega at some point

If we fall behind, just visit any game thread. Those posters who critize Nega in one post, will post a negative post about the team in another. See it all the time

It's nice to put all the Negavols on ignore.

Hey, it’s been tough ever since Kiffin’s night of betrayal. Even before that, Fuller’s last few years showed us its share of our Team not showing up and losing in big spots. I remember those Nebraska bowl game best downs, getting smashed by Clemson, K-State, and Maryland in other bowl games, and all the head-scratching Florida losses. There’s a reason why we cringe a little bit when the other side has a back-up QB in the game (2001 SEC championship game memories).

But I also remember the big wins and what that felt like. Heck, we’ve had two of those this year already - and, yes, I acknowledge that we tried to give away the UF game at the end and should have won the Pitt game in regulation by 10-14 points. Unfortunately, feeling perpetually let down is not something that’s been a choice of late. It’s been forced upon us by the results on the field.

However, Heupel & Co. certainly seem different than the Dooleys and Butch’es of the world (and definitely the pathetic Pruitt regime). All that matters is that the players are bought-in to his style and philosophy. They’ll prove the “NegaVols” wrong on the field. That’s the only cure for Battered Vol Syndrome (BVS) . . . and that’s gonna be a great cure to take!

I believe the actual line in his rambling diatribe was " NITE YOUR POSTS".

Then a legendary poster whose name has been lost to time created that glorious GIF:

Interesting, not sure this worked. I haven't seen anybody leave the board yet.

So you think the coaches are taking time out of their schedule to see what the message boards say? You are probably the guy that thinks Heupel stops to listen for ideas when fans call in to express their opinions on the radio.
