TN vs Missouri Early Talk

Well, it would appear by all indications this year anyway (their game play, their record) that Missouri should be a somewhat easy win, but not so fast. I can't say I feel great about it and I won't until that clock hits zero and we win. Missouri is undefeated against TN since they joined the SEC in 2012. I hope Butch and company are going to take this matchup very seriously and prepare in depth. I hope everyone is on their A game and we bring it. A win against Missouri added to the win against Georgia would be so uplifting to the fans and to the program. If we can turn another corner with this Team 119 it would be awesome.

What do you guys think?

what's the point of that question? do you think they'll take the week off? are you implying that they haven't taken other conference games seriously? or prepared for them?

Meh, maybe they'll work all that out against BYU.

Agree. An anonymous player was quoted as saying that not all players were on board with the political activism shown by many of the players. There's a lot more to this "story" and to assume that they'll be more united and galvanized to go play their best ball of the season is a reach IMO.

I believe you are correct KB. There simply is no corraborative evidence or witnesses verifying some of the roots of the problems at Mizzou. No evidence of a feces swastika, no witnesses of who did it were there one. It goes on and on. This from a fair minded person is begining to look and smell like the Duke rape case and hands up don't shoot falsehood. Great claims require great evidence to be believed.

Here's an article backing up your comments. Also, why would black students be offended by a swastika? Shouldn't that be the Jewish students on campus?

Why Is There Zero Evidence Of The Mizzou Poop Swastika?

They played Georgia even and we played Georgia even. They need to beat us to be bowl eligible. We will be bowl eligible after Sat. We will be favored sufficiently which seems to not bode well for our team's psych in games like this. Beware

I guess you can make the common opponent's games say whatever you want them to say. They lost at Kentucky 21-13 and we won at Kentucky 52-21.

I will say one more time, they have an above average defense but not a great defense by any means and they just showed some vulnerability to the one and only dual threat quarterback they have faced.

their defense is plenty good enough, if we can't sustain offense again like we did against SC.

their defense is better than KY, GA and USCe.

it's on the road, so for us, we cannot turn the ball over.

and when we have shots to score, we need to take advantage. no drops, no getting ran down from behind.

like with the whole season....if we get up on 'em, stay up and find a way to pile it on.

don't let our defense get in to a position where they have to save it.

I disagree. 27 points would be enough for a 2 touchdown victory against Missouri. They are not capable of exploiting our weakness in the secondary. They never convert a 3rd down or ever complete a pass downfield of more than 20 yards.

Unfortunately, I believe you are correct, sir. What we're witnessing is the tipping of balance in our nation's history. When folks speak of the "good ol' days" in the earlier and mid points of last century, we don't tend to look at the unjust treatment of blacks by the media's general depictions. Now the seesaw's going the other way and the misperceptions have been reversed. Satan's running that show, so the George Wallaces, et al, have been replaced by the Jesse Jacksons, et al. Just lies morphing into equally opposite lies and done for their own selfish, greedy profit. There's no good coming out of this fanning of the flames of hate. The BLM's leadership should've worked to unite the folks of Ferguson, then the rest of the U.S. but they jumped onto the fame and profit and that ugly tumor is growing...having begun in Ferguson. As for the game: SCjr put up a gallant fight due to UT's relaxing and to their own manning up and laying it all on the field. Mizzou's football team is likely divided and will probably show it. Vols should romp. Take no prisoners.

i don't know that we'll get to 27 against them.

if we do, that certainly helps.

You make a good point about Wallace and now Jackson and Sharpton. Who are nothing less than government shills that intentionally stir up racial tentions in an attempt to create division and divert attention away from the governments massive corruption and failing policies. The age old divide and conquer.

When the head coach was interviewed he sounded like he didnt even know what was going on. He kept saying over and over that he was there to support his players and the sick student. It was very strange. I guess the coach thinks or was led to think that the student on a voluntary hunger strike was a sick student.

Gary Pinkel had no choice but to stand by his players. If he hadn't, the program would have become a mess and it would have killed his recruiting. In an interview here in KC yesterday he did not want to comment on the situation at Mizzou and whether he personally feels Columbia, Missouri is a racist town and racism is an issue at Mizzou. Many Mizzou alumni are not happy with Pinkel over this and believe he is going to have to address whether he feels that way because this thing is not going away and may still effect his recruiting and his program.

This is my biggest problem with this whole thing. The staff and AD kept repeating comments like "When you see one of your students dying in front of you it changes your perspective on things" and "We're concerned for his health, our primary concern is that he's able to eat again."

I'm gonna go ahead and say hospitals are full of ACTUAL sick and dying people that are a bit less sympathetic.

They also had a false "KKK on campus" scare that was sent today via social media supposedly from credible sources that they've now been forced to retract. I totally support any kids, moreover minority students, who are being harassed or terrorized. That said, again great claims require great evidence, and in just about every claim made during this most recent set of events at Mizzou, there is no there there. People are supposed to be taught critical thinking and logic at the university level and much of what is taking place is based on raw emotions, feelings, and overreaction over falsehoods, fantasies, and fabrications.

I think Pinkel could have stood by them without threatening to boycott the BYU game. There are countless ways they could have sent a message to Missouri decision-makers or America...and it could have been far more powerful than sitting at home in protest.

The truth is this Missouri team is extremely weak mentally and emotionally, and none of this has to do with a protesting student. This chain of events simply proves to me the team quit on the season and each other. They can hide behind some sort of symbolic protest but they can't run from the fact they quit. The mere fact the team was divided is proof of this.

He also said that racism is everywhere but he hasn't seen it. lolol I don't think he is very smart but he seems proud to take a stand for the 'sick kid.'

JMO, kick Misery out of the SEC, and give Gary Pinko a "show cause" for good measure.

OTOH, should CBJ lose to these chumps...

If we don't win every game on the schedule the Legion will be very upset, and it will be a very long off season.

With that said. Guys NT is the next game and is the biggest game so lets focus on that. :dance2:
