TN vs Missouri Early Talk

Is this a serious post? Just because their coach is quitting? I'm sorry but he's not exactly Tom Osborne or even Frank Beamer for that matter... and that team still sucks. This was likely forced on him by the administration.

Cancer.

Pinkel just announced retirement after end of year. Interesting.

Here is proof. Sorry for not posting proof first. I just got out of eye surgery about 3 hours ago. Typing with one eye. Lol

Has nothing to do with the quality of the coach. The one thing that can beat talent? Emotion.

This will be Pinkel's last home game. If there's ever a time those kids will play with reckless abandon, it's that game. Couple that with the race mess, lots of emotion on that team right now.

Was reading about this earlier today. timing seems kinda strange. came across somewhere that he interviewed with BLM and was asked about his "White Privilege" and said he would not answer the question.

The talent has to be somewhat close for some great emotional inspiration to have an effect on the outcome. And you're assuming a lot here anyway.

We will see how they look tomorrow vs BYU. I'm betting they still can't score or run the ball to save their butts - emotionally supercharged or not.

He has cancer. He's had cancer since May. Lymphoma in the blood - especially of one in their mid 60s - doesn't really go away through treatment, either.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he resigned before the game, lot of concerned students bashing him on twitter.

Look fellas, no need for conspiracy theories. The man has cancer. It's got him worn down and probably more than a little worried and anxious. All the emotions and tensions across the university and football program the past two weeks just piled on top of that. Sure they probably contributed to him saying, "okay, it's time for me to slow this train down," but that's all it was, contributing factor.

So put away the tin foil hats, they make you look silly.

I feel like Pinkel stepping down will have them playing out of their minds against us. I was already worried about this one, now I'm expecting a loss. Crap.

That's a really good post VFL.

Ever post anything classy in your life?

I understand you have a reputation of being the absolute worst poster on the entire board, but exactly how is pointing out that he would be the longest tenured coach classless. You continue to be an absolute joke.

i am sorry i don't trust this coaching staff to take us on the road and end this streak not with all the distractions in missouri, us being the last home game for them and pinkel. and a bowl eligibility locked up it will be hard for us to over come all of that to beat missouri. believe me i hope i am wrong and we win. but i don't see it happening. so with us more than likely losing to missouri where does that put us with a bowl game?

Emotion can be a double edged sword.

I'd be far more scared of an individual, or team, who competes with cool calculation than one jumping up and down and acting crazy.

Even Sun Tsu knew that if you're enemy is agitated, agitate them more. Emotion tends to detract from decision making and execution, and, wastes energy.

Be like Fonzy.

So many folks liken Dobbs to Dak Prescott, so lets assume Mizzou will man-up, so if Dobbs can have a Prescott-esque performance (27-40, 300 yds, 4 TDs), then we will win going away. Otherwise, it will be nip and tuck.
