Most UF fans I've met and I mean this in the nicest way are complete ***holes. They don't know anything about there team or there history and usually are the most arrogant obnoxious fans you will meet. I know there are some good ones out there but I'd rather get lost in Tuscaloosa then spend a game down in GainesvillePerhaps that’s because it’s entirely possible to be irrational in your hatred of a rival, and get irrationally upset when losing to that rival, yet be rational and reasonable when having a conversation or discussion with fans of said rival...especially if that rival fan is also rational and reasonable.

That's the thing, most of the gator fans I know and come into contact with aren't really gator fans. They're fans of talking chit. Most of them couldn't tell you who the QB is this year. Ask them how they think Franks will do this year and they'll say "he ain't no Spurrier, but he's better than your coach, hahahaha y'all suck chomp chomp ". The only good thing about them is when they're not doing good, they disappear. Doesn't matter if they beat Tennessee or not, just lose a few games and "poof" they gone. Most UF fans I've met and I mean this in the nicest way are complete ***holes. These guys here are nothing like the majority I know and the ones that live here in Florida know what I'm talking about.
Still, nothing worse than the Volgators we have here.

Obviously we've had different experiences.Younger fans tend to be that way, but honestly in my experience that is true of any college football fan base. The older the fan, the more experience they have with the highs and the lows and so the more humble they are and the more they focus on the analytical side of things. Younger fans are just excited for the party.

This has been my experience also.
