'26 TN S Joel Wyatt (Tennessee commit)

I would be willing to bet CPA finishes no worse than 7-3
They’re losing to Oakland , Tupelo, Archbishop Moeller, Baylor and McCallie.

Ensworth and Ravenwood are 50/50.

They’re not just out of state teams. They’re the very BEST TEAM in their respective states.
CPA has the Patterson boys and Cabel at WR/QB but that’s not enough.

They go 5-5 at best and are still one of the best teams in Tennessee.

St Frances Academy has a murders row schedule 3 years ago and they had multiple D1 guys on their team. Their QB is starting at Mississippi State now. Still wasn’t enough as they finished below .500. And they were still one the best 25 teams in HS that year.

Would say CPA ceiling is a lot higher than .500. They are always able to run the ball and they have 3 future D1 OL and Eli Dickey (R.A. son) at tight end who has a D1 offer but is obviously going to be focusing on baseball at next level. Their defensive front is suspect so I imagine they might try to chew some clock this year but they can compete with anyone on their schedule except maybe Archbishop Moeller. Idk anything about them beside their Maxpreps rank (#35 natl, #1 Ohio)

Tennessee football commit Joel Wyatt had a strong showing for Oakland High School as two of the top high school football programs in the state of Tennessee scrimmaged on Friday evening as McCallie traveled to play the Patriots a couple of weeks before the first week of the regular season.

During the scrimmage, he was a weapon on both sides of the ball, hauling in a long touchdown reception as a receiver and using his length to help stifle a prolific opposing offense from his safety position.

Transition from small to big and didn't miss a beat

You cover Tennessee so you would be more familiar than myself.
A few things before I add why I think they are set up to fail.
- preseason HS rankings you definitely can’t hang your hat on. Is Tupelo the 69th best team in HS? Is AMHS the 35th? Idk. But they’re both really good teams. For that matter is CPA really the 128th best team in HS?

- Wyatt to Oakland imo puts them closer to McCallie and Baylor just for this season obviously. They were going to be good anyway and now that they have a freak like Wyatt on offense and defense.

- Oakland is better with the addition of Wyatt
- Jaden Hill had 2,000 yards rushing for Tupelo, MS, 37 TDs. They were 14-0 and beat defending 5A Tennessee Champion-Houston 35-13 in that process. Could CPA have beaten Houston 35-13 last season?
- Mollers QB won Gatorade Offensive Player of the year in Ohio as a junior. Throwing for 57 TDS!
How good can CPA defend that level of passing attack?
- Baylor…enough said

So CPA plays those 4 teams IN A ROW. Look lol, I think Buford, GA would have trouble with that schedule.

Sorry Pearl Cohn is also in that murders row- and they return 4,000 yards from last season’s offense. CPA is better imo, but PC won’t be an easy game.

Then there’s Ensworth who might be as good as CPA- better than CPA after their confidence takes a bit.

Ravenwood- see above.

Goodpasture, MBA, are the only two for sure wins.

Catholic has Tyreek King, Roger’s at RB and they will just be a better team than last year, with their maturing QB.
Oh and then to top it off they play last years number one team in Tennessee- McCallie.

IMO CPA is on the level of Maryville, Oakland, Alcoa. All state championship caliber programs in public schools. Obviously CPA is a private school but they are in that same level of competition as those programs.

I respect them for making such a brutal schedule, but it’s really not fair imo. They play elite power running team one week then play an elite air raid attack the following week, then…Baylor.

I should see them scrimmage start of August so I’ll come back to it then. I feel like he would just tell me safety tbh. But they need front 7 talent BADLY and already have Craig Tutt and now Justis Haggard back there in addition to several other senior safeties that have played a good amount

I told you man. CPA is in for a long season. They have the hardest Schedule I've ever seen a Tennessee High school play this year.
@allvolrecruiting I think I remember you saying you were an alumni of CPA?

If so, I wasn't coming down on CPA as a program, just that whoever did this schedule shouldn't be in that position in my opinion.

McCallie smacked LA 56-20??
Baylor smacked some.school in Florida 52-17.

I haven't even checked ABMHS or Tupelo yet.

Alumnus. He is an alumnus. Singular.

Carry on. 😛

He seems to have made some tackles and caught at least two passes according to the daily journal.
Anything on Tutt?

I've wondered if he might be a flip candidate down the road. I'm guessing it's unlikely since a) the staff seems to like Combay better as a Safety, and b) it's not like there is a huge distance difference between Oxford and Knoxville for a Murfreesboro kid. He just doesn't have the feel of a potential flip like Blair always did or Brame last year.

But nonetheless, I'd love to flip him.

2 TDs and a bunch of rushing yards. He had a 43 yard TD early in the game.

He was all over the field but I can’t find the full stat sheet

AP said on a pod that Tutt was the least likely to visit during fall when someone asked about like 5 or so players. Givens was 2nd least likely I believe but still a decent chance for a visit. Harris, that UK TE, Keys. Can’t remember who else he said all were very likely.

AP did not sound encouraging in the least on latest pod. I'd wager, that's a negative.

I didn’t go to CPA. But yeah the schedule is brutal lol

The family isn’t happy with how little he was targeted. The qb there seems to favor the bama commit.
Just get him here safely and healthy by December and it’s a win for all parties involved. Kid should’ve never went there knowing they don’t throw the ball much. Didn’t they run the wishbone or some last year?

2 Things

1) What Bama commit? There is nobody from Oakland committed to Alabama. Not to mention Oakland mostly ran the football. Wyatt doesn’t play RB

2) He played at po-dunk Bell Buckle Webb HS. Now he starts for one of the best teams in the state. He has nothing to complain about.

I will though- He gave up a TD off a deep ball because he couldn’t decide to play the ball or the man and ended up losing both. He played very physical but his lack of awareness in the passing game showed. He’s a straight downhill long athlete. And he’s not a ballhawk at all. He’s not a real threat at WR. Kid needs to focus on gaining muscle and learn to love playing tin the box.

Dang man you dropping some heat in this thread with your knowledge of these teams.

Tupelo did not play but the are #1 in Mississippi.

Archbishop beat Princeton 41-20. Archbishop is Ohio's #1 team right now but I'm not sure how good Princeton is going to be because they are thought of as sorta mid in the state right now.
