Elsewhere at safety, 2026 standout Craig Tutt has been to Tennessee twice now and is high on the Vols early on. He has heard from the staff routinely since June 15th and feels like they are making him a priority, along with Alabama, Michigan and several others. He is excited to get back to town in the fall, as he also reports a strong relationship with Danny O'Rourke and Tim Banks.

Elsewhere in-state, Craig Tutt helped Oakland to a victory over Independence last week. He routinely flashes his ability as a natural playmaker on both sides of the ball, but defensively, he was downhill attacking and around the ball all night. Tennessee has continued to do a nice job early with the talented safety prospect.

Nobody has mentioned Oaklands big win over a Texas team this past Friday. Anna I believe it was, I team just north of Dallas. Does anyone know anything about them? Is that a powerhouse? What class do they play in?
5a defending state champs if I’m not mistaken. Maxpreps had them ranked 16 regardless of class in the state before the loss. Now 25

The game is on YouTube.

Anna was 4A D1 State Champs in Texas
It goes all the way up to 6A D2

They were ranked 16th in Texas overall at the end of last year.

They scored 48 on Oakland, and one interception was the difference in the game

Morris was injured but Oakland literally ran it down their throats anyway. Tutt was dominant in the ground attacks.

Texas like I've been saying ...is a bit overrated in High School Football overall.

Thanks for the info! I’ll have to go watch it

Defending 4A state champs in Texas. They have a (I think 2027) OL with an offer from Tennessee

2026 safety in-state safety Craig Tutt from Murfreesboro Oakland has been excited to make it back for a game, and he is expected on campus on Saturday. We would be surprised if this is his last trip to town this fall. He has built a strong bond with Tim Banks and the defensive staff, and we expect him to build on that this weekend.

In-state, in 2026 the Vols are off to a nice start. They have had safety Craig Tutt, standout athlete Joel Wyatt, and offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda on campus multiple times over the last two months. They continue to impress with each one and are positioned well here as the fall rolls on.
Tutt visited for Kent State and Alabama, and he continues to reiterate there is no other atmosphere like Tennessee. His stock continues to grow as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and numerous others are becoming more involved. Relationships are going to be important in this one, and at this point, we feel like Tennessee has done the best job of cultivating multiple relationships with the coveted safety target.
