Faizon is more athletic and has a great arm, but Curtis seems to see the field so well. He's very quick with his reads, too. Yeah, I know... highlights. Maybe Milton and Nico have me seeing things through a faulty lens? Just want a guy who's smart and a real leader. Why? Because he is from TN?
Faizon is better prospect in every appreciable way.
He’s a big kid. He’s also pretty much always the tallest kid on the field, so he can see the field well. He won’t be facing 180 lb DL and 140 lb LBs almost every week much longer and we won’t know until he’s live against multiple 6’3-6’5 250-300 lb DL with a 6’3 240 lb blitzing. Lighting up 7 v 7 means very little. There will be an adjustment as he goes from not being the biggest and fastest dude on the field.Faizon is more athletic and has a great arm, but Curtis seems to see the field so well. It’s going to be a huge jump from mid-classification Tennessee private school to the SEC.He’s a big kid. He’s also pretty much always the tallest kid on the field, so he can see the field well. I was referring to curtis. He sees what pavia is doing and wants to be a part of it. Im down with it b/c vandy will never be a real contender and uga doesnt get a 5* qb. They dont stack up on talent like they did pre nil era. What QB has Vanderbilt built into an NFL caliber player? Pavia? He may get drafted but it's most likely he's an UFA. Regardless he isn't considered an NFL caliber player.
I dont want to pretend like I know everything about these prospects, I honestly know nothing about Curtis, but from stats and what recruiting analyst have said Faizon has great decision making. His interception numbers were low the last two years and I have read his decision making since coming back from injury has been superb. I dont know if its as good as Curtis, but I dont know if its fair to say he only has the traits.I’m gonna get slayed for this, but my take as of now is:
Curtis is like Peyton Manning-reads the field really well, processes the game quickly and can make quick decisions.
Faizon is like Brandon Stewart-has the arm and the running ability. Can make all the throws.
I’m not saying that my comparison is set in stone. It’s just what it seems like to me at this moment.I dont want to pretend like I know everything about these prospects, I honestly know nothing about Curtis, but from stats and what recruiting analyst have said Faizon has great decision making. What a ridiculous point. Your initial comment was that Vanderbilt hasn't had any NFL caliber QB's. That was incorrect. In context of a current prospect possibly deciding to commit to a program based on their ability to develop pro talent........ why would prior staff's success stories apply?
He started Milton over Hooker because Milton outplayed Hooker in every aspect in Fall practice and anyone else would have done the same thing. This wrongheaded narrative is tired. Unless you expected Heupel to have ESP, there's no way he should have started Hooker over Milton to start the season.I’m not saying that my comparison is set in stone. A little side evidence to back up my thoughts on what CJH likes:
He started Milton over Hooker at one point. Hooker was better at reading a defense and making decisions. Milton is a freak athlete who could throw the ball “over those mountains.”
Again, practice doesn’t simulate the speed of the game. Hooker could process faster and see the field faster. In a practice situation, Milton looked better. Stronger arm and had a little longer to process. He started Milton over Hooker because Milton outplayed Hooker in every aspect in Fall practice and anyone else would have done the same thing. A light came on later for Hooker that wasn't on before. It happens.
I'm not sure if you're aware, but they don't play games until they play games. Practice is what he had to go on. Because...Again, practice doesn’t simulate the speed of the game. Dude. Are you serious. You are making my point for me. Not sure why you are arguing with me.I'm not sure if you're aware, but they don't play games until they play games. Practice is what he had to go on. Because...
Dear God, why am I having to explain this to you?
