Centennial is not a solid team. They have 1 win and 3 losses. You might label them as bad. However, given the other teams Antioch has faced this year they might be one of the better ones.

Antioch is 5-0. They have faced 3 teams that are winless and a combined 0-14. The other two teams are 1-4 and 1-3. The total combined record of the teams they've played are 2 wins and 21 losses.

Their district is easily as terrible unfortunately.

I saw him play at East Nashville, which is a winless team but one which is 2A and only played 5A and 6A teams thus far, all very close. So, they're a lot more solid than their record. I was impressed by Adams as he took the Antioch team on his shoulders to win a game they probably would've lost by 2-3 TDs. I wasn't entirely sold on him being an SEC starter type player, maybe yes, but he'll find himself a place on the college level. Decent arm, can move pretty well, nice feel for the game.

I'm not diminishing his talent. Probably a good player. I'm in the area so I could go see his game. There is a good chance I will catch one. I'm just putting in context the dreadful competition thus far, and unfortunately maybe the worst overall district in 6A.

5A Centennial has lost by 3 on the road to 6A Stewart's Creek, lost by 2 to probably a top ten 6A team Green Hill, and now lost a shootout to Antioch. They might not be winning state or anything, but non region records are not the end of the world lol.

Does CPA suck because they are 1-4?

Does East Nashville suck because they barely lost to Collierville, Antioch, Beech, and Springfield??

Centennial schedule hasn't been hard, like CPA schedule.

You're right though...they aren't winning which is why they are 1 - 3.

I’m remembering the same thing. And he was in a high classification in Texas. People don’t really understand what a big time recruit he was because of the other QB we got in that class.

Mission Viejo CA beat Santa Margarita CA. Both were Top 10 schools in the country. Santa Margarita beat Centennial - also was a Top 10 team in America at the time
Centennial FINALLY beat Mater Dei (#2 ranked team in the country). McCallie TN beat Mission Viejo CA. Ensworth beat McCalie 22-15?
BA just thrashed Ensworth 40- something.

They are worthy of their ranking.

Nashville Christian also beat Ensworth. Does that mean they are top 50? I didn't look at the ranking because often it is a joke.

Is Alcoa in the top 50? If not, that is questionable because Maryville could still win the 6A title and they were easily handled by Alcoa.

I don't know why anyone pays attention to these rankings who should know better.

not really. there are probably 40 teams in south Florida alone which better than a BA or Mccallie.

No there isn’t.

The fact that you would suggest that means you havent been paying attention to HS football for 20 years probably.

California teams have been dominating Florida tops teams for the past 4 years now.
Mater Dei over STA.
DeLsalle over Lakeland
St John Bosco over Chaminade Madonna
and many many more.

Yes McCallie lost to Gadsden County last season but Gadsden county was a top 10 in Florida last season.

Alcoa or Maryville couldn’t hang within 3 TDs if McCallie or Baylor in a game. Scrimmages are meaningless.

Actually Nashville Christian is ranked 44th in the country…

They have one of the best QBs in the country and a solid roster.

You’re right the rankings are very inconsistent just like star rankings are. But there aren’t 50 better teams in America than Baylor or McCallie. Much less just Florida. (You didn’t say that but I’m just piggy backing on what scooter said)

These Baylor and McCallie teams are loaded with D1 talent. Tennessee has never seen teams like these. They’re recruited super teams.
McCallie lost to Ensworth but watch what they do to BA who just pounded Ensworth.

MaxPreps has Baylor 23 nationally and McCallie 25 nationally.

Maybe exaggerating a little with 40 but the point remains there’s a different level of size, speed and depth in leagues down there. This game currently likely has over 100 HS players from SFlorida on the 2 rosters.
Your fact comment isn’t a fact, specifically since I had multiple sons in HS the last 12 years, since you were probably about 4.
