'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

I have no opinion of him one way or another

Ok folks Look! if the young man wants to go anywhere beside UT then fine. Would we like to have him, you bet. He is a young man making a decision. I wish the best for him and the only people I can blame on this is butch and the previous coaching staff for letting the door crack open and let an off team come in and get in his ear. if in fact he was to go somewhere else other then UT I wish him the best.

I’ll say this and I’ll leave it at this. I grew up a die hard vols fan like many and if I had a chance to run through the T there would be no other coach would sway me from that. That’s me personally.

I guess I will throw in my 2¢ worth. I feel about Mays just as I did about Chase Hayden and Jalen MCkinsey. I wanted them to be Vols because I remember watching their fathers play at UT. That doesn't always work out. I am happy for those young men where they are and hope they have success. The same for Cade if he chooses to go elsewhere. That just me though. But please don't show ignorance or hate when it doesn't go our way, that is just sad.

And won't let Fulmer in as a courtesy to his father. That's the one I don't understand.

I think his mind is made up. He wants to play for championships and UT is a good way off from that level. I'm sure he envisions a very uncomfortable situation where he's in the living room with his father, Fulmer and Pruitt. Just doesn't want to be in that spot and having to say no or worse, be in a position where he feels he has to say yes to please those three A type personalities.

Wish him well but I'm not all that bothered by his decommit. Personally, I don't think he's all that special despite his 5 star rating. Don't see him as the same caliber as Smith. Good size but not SEC ready yet. Let's be honest...its Catholic. It's not like S. Florida. Good luck to him.

Butch Jones lost him..........It was going to (Is going to be) hard to get him back.

I get that. I don't get how appealing it is to go to a place that's had 1 OL drafted since 09. Hell, we've had 5 coaches in 10 years and have 4 or 5 drafted. 1 first rounder.
Those championship or playoff appearances don't sign million dollar contracts for their oline.

Well, I could give two ****s how many Olinemen UT had drafted. I'd trade the last 10 years with Clemson.

Wes Brown- "I would rather lose every game and play for Tennessee than play for someone else and win them all."
My favorite VFL quote and I feel the same way.

We are all different in our commitments and loyalties.

Not everyone is like me.

I love the ORANGE, but I'm not 100% sure if I were an immature 18 year old, if I would be so loyal to my current Alma Mater...
...not that I was offered anything.....

I bleed ORANGE and I am proud of that. Those that don't...nah.......just pity.

I want these young men that chose UT to know that we support them 100%............of course sometimes there are those of us that DOG those young men that have committed to the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, & I am truly sorry for this.

GBO

Amen, Butch Jones is gone, we have what is going to be a great coach and excellent coaching staff. Will a friend is a helluva OL coach. Yet he won’t even give them the time of day? Seriously. Unbelievable

At what point did I say I wouldn't want to trade records with Clemson? To be frank, the mindset of any recruit is wanting to play in the "league". If you were looking strictly from number of o lineman put in the league, Clemson is not doing that. Also, at no point did I say I wanted him here.

I honestly am surprised he was committed to us for so long with the sh!tty offense Butch ran with 250 pound lineman.

We saw what good recruiting does the first few years for a poor coach , Now that we have one that can hopefully develop good recruits , I would have to laugh really loud if we won a championship in 3 or 4 years and Clemson and Cade didn't. With that said, it's his life . Hope he has a happy one whereever he decides to go

Cade is committed to Dabo, not Clemson. Just like he was committed to Butch, not Tennessee. Kids that choose a coach instead of a school may very well benefit from the decision in the short term, but in 30 years when Clemson is irrelevant again he will look back and never know what it felt like to play for one of the premier all-time football programs in college history. Top 10 in wins. Rarely paralleled tradition. And it was in his back yard all along. Dabo won’t be around then either. Just memories from a good little run by Clemson from 2010-2020 and never knowing what running through the T is like or smoking a cigar after beating Bama.

I say he can have that. It’ll all even out eventually.

I get it.. He ain't coming.. Don't really care now. Can you please stop repeating it over and over now?.

I'm really that you get it. Those who say he ain't comin till he ain't coming will get an honest answer. Sorry that upsets you.
