'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

i think its interesting how many people get worked up over this. if he was a UT signee and he said F Uga et al we'd out him in the HOF.

Really, it doesnt matter. We're about to get a JUCO lineman. Guess what, chances are good that this JUCO seea more action on O than this kid ever will. Good luck kid, whoever you are.

You have to admit it's a totally different scenario. I agree that if it was a kid that spurned UGA, who's dad was a legacy to GA, that grew up in Athens and he said/Did that to GA, many VOL fans would be his biggest cheerleader. I would not be amongst them. I would cringe and the thought would be, hope that doesn't come back to bite you. I would like for my players that I cheer for to show more class than that.

Everyone one wants the kid to be able to do what he wants without ramifications. No social media backlash, no community criticism. He's nuking all the bridges on the way out of town. Doubt he'll be able to return without bad feelings. Maybe that's not right but that's life. He doesn't seem to care so I don't know why I should.

I’m sure this is nothing more than a response to the many ridiculous messages he received from Vol fans after announcing he was going to Georgia. Doesn’t mean it’s a smart thing to do but kids don’t always make smart decisions. If the people who are fans of a school you loved turned on you and said some of the things that were said to him because he made the decision he felt was best for his future I imagine it left a bad taste in his mouth toward Tennessee. Was it ignorant to put that out there? Yep. Was it classy? Not at all. Do kids make dumb decisions? Sure do. It happens. Move on.

It stings more that Kevin was part of our glory years. My kids are taught that if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. I also taught them to shake hands with everyone they meet but have a plan to kill them.

He's an embarrassment to his father, family, and school. Whether they realize it or not is still unknown. But make no mistake, he embarrassed everybody around him and made their lives more difficult in the coming weeks/months. They will continue to live here, he won't.

As another poster said, we dodged a bullet. Let's move on.

"You worry about the ones you get. You don’t worry about the ones you don’t."

Yup
His Dad should have been telling him to keep his head down, his mouth shut, and do any talking with his play on the feild. He made himself a target.
Which is not smart.

You can say people should leave him alone, and I agree they should, but what people should do isn’t realistic. You need to prepare your kids for the real cruel world.

Isn’t that what a message board is for?

No. Social media? Maybe.

Student athletes for the most part don't get to pick where they want to attend school. They are told who they may choose from. If that.

Fans have the luxury of choosing who they want to root for. Believe me, alumni of the University of Tennessee aren't made to only apply for jobs within the boundaries of our state.

Having raised 3 millennials myself, I'd never tell one of mine they had to go to my alma mater one way or the other. Their choice, their life.

That's not the point. I agree his dad shouldn't have dictated where he went to school but his dad should have told him to sthu. He's a big boy, if he can dish it out he should be prepared for the backlash. No one is making him go on social media and acting like a fool.

Life's full of choices. You don't crap on a whole town and University and expect to be welcomed with open arms there. Don't expect to get any help or be well received.

Video was deleted from the twitter feed I saw. I'm sure my kids won't run their social media posts by me before they hit the send button, but they might get a lecture on the effects of other dumasses besides their friends reading their posts.

This is much ado about very little. The whole point CJP was making about worrying about the ones we get and not the ones we don't rings pretty hollow if we're still stalking this kid a week later. I mean, grow up. The Antonutti kid is a good kid. Because he's played competitive travel baseball summers and projected as a tight end earlier in his career, our fans are going to trash him as a 3 star undersized tackle before he even gets here. If he was a 5 star stud that had signed with us, they'd be more forgiving and forgetting in their posts. Still, there is nothing to see here except teenage drama.

Lol, he deleted it. That Jeanie can't be put back in the bottle my friend. This is about having class. I can tell you this, I'm confident my kids, 18, 23, would know better than disrespect their community. He seems intent on destroying what was once his fan base. He seems intent on wanting to be hated by as many VOL fans as he can generate. I've said it many times, I couldn't care less where the kid went. There are many players still out there that may want to choose to be Vols. Cade hose the easy route. All these things that he has done over the last few weeks solidify why I don't want him anywhere near the University.

To be honest he was probably playing to the Ga fans. Trying to get his fans behind him. Being a kid he probably didn’t give 5 seconds of thought how Tennessee fans would react. Hopefully it will be a lesson to himself and others.

Possibly but I think he's intentionally trolling the TN fan base.

Look up posts from tnvol72, he posted the gist of the story. Fulmer wasn’t pleased. I’ll just add Cade and his family are very religious and like I said when Pruitt was hired, he’s a vulgar redneck from Alabama. You have to recruit the room, have to be aware of the clients’ do’s and dont’s.

another point I want to make about this (for those who wrongly disrespected our coach due to an obviously lying "insider") Pruitt is the number one recruiter in the country-- You don't get to that position, without knowing who your audience is.

How many recruiting letters for athletics did your kids receive in the mail? How many emails from coaches? How many campus visits to discuss their athletic prowess with coaching staff? Walk a mile or so in their moccasins first. I'll trust Coach Pruitt to take care of this. You've got grown kids and you're acting like one of them. Come on dude! Grow up! Holding kids hostage for doing kids stuff while they're kids. You guys take the cake!

What's more, he's got a brother that's got a decision to make in a year or so. Might as well scorch that earth too.

Nobody is holding anyone hostage. Talk about hyperbole and virtue signaling. Your mentality is why there are so many disrespectful punks running around today. Maybe you should have grew up and been a parent instead of your kids buddy. Then you wouldn’t have to excuse poor behavior as ‘kids being kids’

Oh so now I'm supposed to feel sorry for him because he's highly recruited? Lol. Bless his little disadvantaged heart.

Do you realize how utterly ridiculous that sounds? You crack me up.

Edit: and I don't give a dam where little bro goes to play. My trust in anyone in the Mays family would definitely be in question. They'd have to do some pretty dang good convincing before I'd let them anywhere near the campus.

Accountability is something that has been established all through team sports. Additionally, I don’t want to hear the kids make mistakes garbage. When I was still a kid, I fought in combat. He is a young man and should have known better. His parents should have taught him better.
