'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Generally when you play for a team, you have pride in the school you played for but maybe you don't. You build bonds with teammates and coaches but maybe you didn't. Soccer seems like a more appropriate sport for you.

Ya I was going to send a kid to a program that won 6 games the year before and fired the coach. But you know more about college sports than I do. Kids comit to coaches more now than the school.

That would make sense if hadn't committed to Butch Jones the worst developer of talent known to man. I know I wouldn't steer my son to my former team's rival no matter how much you try to justify it. Now, he may decide to play at a rival school but it wouldn't be because I pushed him there. I don't blame instate players for leaving the state but that is completely different than being complicit with them leaving.

Do you have children? Why would you steer your children to any particular school? Wouldn't it be better to provide them with the information and let them make the best decision for THEMSELVES????

Exactly my point, why would he steer him to UGA?? It is puzzling to say the least. Choosing to go to UGA is much different than intentionally steering him to UGA imho

Nope, not from here. From the UGA Rivals board administrator, he commented on a question from another poster. It's not my account and I am not sure what thread it was in or I would post it on here. They were discussing it on the Rivals main board as well.

If my son was a recruit and I knew the three finalists my son was down to (UT having NO chance). I would advise him to seriously consider the school with the best position coach, with the best possible development for a NFL future. Especially if it was a coach I knew and liked. I honestly couldn't care less if it's a rival school when it comes to what's best for my son..

Maybe, just maybe that is what Kevin Mays is doing here..

A guy on another team’s board referred to it and you took it as gospel? Shoulda said so...you’ve been wronged. :eek:k:

No, I didn't take it as Gospel which is why I said "if" but it was also coming from Clemson posters as well. I believe that there is possibly some truth to it otherwise why would he continue to troll UT fans and have completely eliminated them even though UT arguably has better coaches now?

Can you name another UT recruit in the last 10 years that was committed to UT for nearly two years then completely eliminated them? Not to mention, trolled the fan base before committing to another school? I can't and on top of that he was a legacy recruit. Plenty of recruits have gone elsewhere and even some legacy recruits but not with this level of animosity. I do believe there is some truth to the rumors.

Because it's probable that because he didn't have interest in Alabama, that he hasn't developed a relationship with Coach Pruitt, had no interest in going out west so Will Friend and Helton had no ties, and it's not like Kevin Sherrer would have been his position coach at UGA either.

His relationship with Pittman seems really strong, and who doesn't want to play for Dabo Swinney right now if it turns out to be Clemson?

None of that means Kevin did anything to steer him there, or push another university on the kid. It's possible Cade sat down with his dad one day and said "Dad, I think I want to go to UGA because _____" and like a NORMAL father, Kevin probably said,

"Son, do you. I'm behind you 100%"

If that's "steering" to you, then I'd hate to see your definition of manipulating.

If it's merely a "business" or "relationship" decision, then why the animosity towards UT recruits who were/are considering UT? It is deeper than that. You may have certain opinions or feelings about another coach or school but that doesn't mean you broadcast it on Twitter or comment on other possible recruits.

Tee Higgins mildly fits that narrative.

All I know is either school is a major blow. We need a player with his potential bad. Meanwhile the rich get richer.
