'19 TN DT Tymon Mitchell

This isn’t true anymore. Tennessee was significantly behind Alabama and Georgia last year.

But dodge chargers ain't cheap.

Seriously, Alabama and TN bring in about the same amount of revenue, $120M/year. While TN spends about $28mil on football, Alabama spends twice as much at about $58mil/year. It's obvious which program values winning more than the other. Now my figures may be off a little as I pulled those from my memory so don't @ me.

None of us know how good the TN d-line class will ultimately turn out to be, but it still isn’t a positive development when most of them are headed to other top programs.

2020 should be a stronger class, but we’re fooling ourselves to think the roster is going to be built out of kids from GA, AL and SC. Pruitt’s a good coach, but GA is ascending and so is SC. Both feature head coaches with stellar reputations as recruiters and poaching from them for top talent is going to be difficult. I’m sure as hell not sold that Pruitt is gonna school those two because he’s got a magic talent spotter they lack. Laughable.

I've lived in Tennessee all my life and played high school football in this great state so needless to say I love everything about Tennessee! That being said give me a 3 or 4 star from Georgia over a 3 or 4 star from Tennessee pretty much everytime due to better competition. Flame away lol!

I will go with what our "All Star Staff" thinks is best to get Vols back to winning. Screw everyone and everything that opposes their view. Till they prove otherwise, I trust their evaluations. Some of those TN kids would not even camp for them. That changes after this year. You have to prove yourself to earn a scholarship from the Vols as of now. We looking for dogs now to be part of a pack.

And I understand Pruitt hasn’t pushed for all of these players but that is a mistake imo.

Then stop with the silly narrative the staff whiffed on all of those players. If you want to argue it was a mistake to not push harder for a few of them, that's a fair argument, but one we won't know the answer to for at least a couple of years.

Congrats on your first post troll!!! Let me break this down for you. Show me where anyone said this roster will be built on players from SC. South Carolina produces less talent then Tennessee so I am pretty sure no one counted on players from that state to build the roster.

Other than the 3 instate players mentioned in threads above who else have we missed on? Not sure the love for getting instate players. There is more talent in the suburbs of Atlanta then the entire state of Tennessee. I will even go a step further and say getting nothing but the top players that live within an hour of Atlanta you should be able to compete for the SEC at least every 3 or 4 years.

All in favor of tatervol being named Recruiting Coordinator say aye....

Anybody? Huh?

Welp. I guess we will just have to roll with Jeremy Pruitt and his band of misfit coaches that haven't been proven to be excellent talent evaluators. CANCEL THE SEASON!!!

Give me a freaking break Bruin. My God...
Lol y’all are so mad that Pruitt has failed in state for GOOD PLAYERS. And for those of you who say in state talent isn’t good how about Josh Malone, Jalen Hurd, Trey Smith, Derek Barnett, Daniel Bituli...

Wow! Didn’t know those guys were in this class of 2019. Also, go get that Taylor kid. Heard he’s having great practices and he from Tennessee.

There is a lot of talent in Georgia, and Pruitt has connections there from all 3 schools he has been at. We will continue to get good talent from there. I think instate recruiting will get better, and I’m not worried yet. We will see how these guys pan out.

TN never recruited him much so I guess Pruitt and company didnt think he was that good.

I was just about to say watch these Tennessee boys go to UGA and never contribute
Its several now. Go May's there. And this class got Logue, Norton and Mitchell now. Guess we will see.

Some kids chase shiny new things....UGA's success is a shiny new thing, probably don't need folks on roster that have the bandwagon mentality at this point.....When our bandwagon has wheels on it after this year then we might have some of those type kids jump on...

This UGA fan I know says Mays may start and that he is having a really good camp. I told I didn't really care what happened with Cade but still it hacks me off. I'm more mad at Butch's incompetence than anything though.

i think if we get the lion's share of who we want in the 20 cycle in state, you can probably rest easy that we'll be fine on the in state recruiting.

it still stings to see Mitchell, Norton, Hampton, Logue etc...go elsewhere, cause you know we would definitely take them. just too much water under the bridge i guess, and not enough mojo yet to swing those guys our way. the hand wringing over some of the other in state guys going elsewhere, i just don't pay attention to it. they weren't real high the board for Pruitt and co, and they didn't reall want to come to UT to begin with so guys lie Washington...you just wish them luck, no hard feelings.
