It's a grade issue. The kid knows the reason but just doesn't want to talk about it. If you'll remember during his recruitment he was a very quiet kid who didn't like to say much. Also, there were rumors his grades would be close back around signing day as well. Hate to lose him, we could have used the depth for sure.
Private doesnt necessarily mean better education-wise. Idk about Nashville Christian, so I cant say for them. But there are plenty of small private schools nowadays that exist more for parents to shelter their children than for academics.
Lots of great private schools out there too, of course. But its a mistake to assume that a school has good education just because its private.

Just saying....NCS prides itself as a great academic school and not having a high profile athlete qualify (IF that's the case) is a bad look.

Could just be that he's not very good at standardized tests and messed up. I don't really know, but some kids just have a hard time with them. They aren't always the best indicators of intelligence or education IMO. Even though I was always good at them because of my supreme ability to guess in multiple choice questions. hahahahaha
If they are big enough to have a football team they should be providing a good education.
