'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

this staff did everything it was supposed to do to land the kid, including allowing him to silently commit and hold his spot. he's visited TN almost 10 times this year. the team on the field is showing signs of life, especially on the defensive side of the ball. they showed out against USCe, the development of the kids on the DL is pretty freaking apparent.

everything Tennessee was supposed to do to sign kids like Hardy and Baron they freaking did it....'member how important it was for all these in state kids to be part of something special? how tight they all were supposed to be? hard, baron, KL, Mays etc.....they family has been up mulitple times, his brother played here and came on a visit with him agasint USCe.....

he makes one trip to Auburn and he's "all in"? B freaking S.

blame who you want.....most of you will be wrong.
Jake if we were outbid we didn’t do everything we could. Yes I said it. With our resources we shouldn’t be lowballing these kids. Sorry for anybody who didn’t know

Really not that surprised once we found out that the lead recruiter was Rodney Gardner. Rocker and Sherrer should have pushed to the end and not rely on just Hardy visiting every weekend.

All of this "auburn puts d linemen in the league" is just BS to me. Pretty sure Kyle Phillips, Shy Tuttle, and Derek Barnett are all significant contributors on NFL rosters right now. Very lazy argument to say this is about player development and the NFL.

I don’t follow recruiting closely but I’m shocked by this one. Our team is trending upward and they’re trending he opposite direction in what year 7 or so under malzohn. He’s been on our campus multiple times and really seen this team grow up and come together. Man sometimes it really is hard to not dislike these kids. Lol. We absolutely sold out to get him. What the hell?

It's not just about a bag. Its about getting creative with roundabout ways. Ie: buying a "car wash" business that isnt worth the paper it's written on for six figures. Getting certain family members set up with kush jobs, etc.

And the Barn organizes all that in 4 or 5 days? Nah. Their figure beat ours. I’ve been around college athletics a little bit, not SEC or even close, but it pretty much comes down to that

Lol @ CoachK! Everyone has been so excited to land him and talking about how big of a need he is. Then he blindsides us and he trashes us for being upset and saying that we were saying bad things and Jay reads the boards. Get out of here with that. This board has been excited to get Jay for a long time and he goes to Auburn once and decides on them. We know what happened.

They might have thought up a creative benefit. idk what it was but it may have been better than we could give or we didnt have the chance to counter it. idk.

Atlanta Vol is legit - obviously - and should be treated as such.

But #1: when you’re that close to the situation you can get tunnel vision and #2: people lie and things change.

Hardy is a 17 year old kid. It can be hard to do anything other than tell all these coaches and boosters exactly what they want to hear at that age.
