'20 TN DE Jay Hardy (Auburn commit)

FOUR-STAR DL JAY HARDY
THE ODDS: VERY GOOD — Tennessee has been viewed for months as one of the teams to beat for Hardy, who received an offer from the Vols in December and has visited them several times since then. A Top247 prospect from McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., Hardy is the younger brother of former Tennessee fullback Kevin Cooper. The Vols are the favorites on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

How bad is his injury? Any updates?

Meanwhile, Jay Hardy didn’t make it town for the Georgia game, and while Tennessee still feels good where it stands with the McCallie School standout, a new suitor has emerged. Hardy took an OV to Georgia Tech but isn’t seriously considering the Yellow Jackets. However, he did unofficially visit Auburn recently and plans to take an OV there, possibly for the Iron Bowl.

Tennessee feels stronger about its positioning with both Tyler Baron and Jay Hardy coming out of the weekend. The Vols have long felt good on both fronts, but performing well on defense and showing progress was important, especially for Baron. Both in-state lineman could make decisions within the next month or so. The potential speed bumps for Hardy would be both Auburn or Florida, but it's unclear where he stands on their board. Then it's Kentucky and Ohio State for Baron, but the Vols make the most sense on both prospects.
