I remember when he verbally committed to us in February 2014, that posters even back then were saying that he likely wouldn't qualify. For that to be a foregone conclusion so early in his high school career, his grades must be on the level of a Delta pledge. Will he even make it out of JUCO?

And file this away as a name to remember, or maybe become reacquainted with, Emmit Gooden. The one-time Tennessee commitment who decommitted and ended up signing with Mississippi State is now at Independence Community College in Kansas.

He and Vols have stayed in touch these last few months and he's projected to graduate in December of 2018. He has two bye weeks this fall and Tennessee could be a place he tries to make it for a game.

Yes they are. From what I understand he had a really good freshman year and is likely going to be on the top JUCO's in the country in the '18 class.
