'18 TN DE Emmitt Gooden (Tennessee signee)

I went to the Haywood Sports Awards Banquet tonight. My daughter got 3 for vollyball! Anyway, I spoke to Mr Gooden. He was wearing an orange bowtie! I asked him if it was a sign of committment. He said Go Vols! And yes, he is as big as advertised. GBO ~ VFL

Nice...and congrats to your daughter. Be proud! :hi:

1.6 gpa 16 act.

just passing along facts. Close to situation. He will be in Prep School after HS

First I've heard of that. Not saying it's not true but just seen it said before. He's just a junior tho so he has time to get that GPA up and can easily get his ACT before college.

He has 1.5 years to work on that, as well as taking summer classes to improve it. If he is motivated and puts forth the effort, then he could get it done and qualify. Stranger things have happened...cough....Eddie Lacy.....cough.

I'm not bashing the kid but what exactly is he doing in school. He is either taking advanced placement classes or he is not even trying. 1.6 is bad. Unless he has attention deficit disorder there is no excuse for a 1.6 gpa. He shouldn't even be allowed to play football if that's the case, and if his coach is allowing him to play with such a poor gpa then shame on him.

Blame it on TCAP

Rumors are just that...step back, take a deep breath and do not flip out about a 2016 recruit yet.
However, if this is your modus operandi please let us know so that the ignore feature can be used. :)

That's kind of my point. This has to be a rumor, trust me I barely even showed up to school unless it was gameday and graduated with a 2.6 lol and I'am paying for it now. this being my second go around with college. These kids need to realize how important education is. I help coach some middle school and high school age basketball players and iam always preaching good grades to these kids. I had a opportunity to go play ball and some division two schools but did not have the grades and now I'm 26 giving school another shot. I just want these you kids to know what great oppurtunities they have for them especially if they have great athletic ability. I had to go to a smaller school instead of a nice university and it didn't work out. So that's why I always get a little aggravated when I hear about grade concerns. Sorry for the long rant I have been a bad mood this morning lol.

Has anyone else heard he may commit on Chistmas Day? If so, that seems to be good for us to reclaim him.

Callahan had a story on him. Said he will wait now and not commit soon or on Christmas day. He was offered by Alabama on Wednesday. Anything west of Dickson makes me sad.
