His corner highlights look good to me.
It's just him putting a foot in the grown and breaking down on the ball where he is good at closing on plays to take any free space. All of that translates better at safety where he can attack downhill. Idk if he has the fluid hips/change of direction ability to stick at corner. He's also just a big kid at over 6-foot-2

“The visit was amazing. I mean, from the start, the players, the coaches, and just the overall energy,” Leavell said of what stood out about the visit. “It was amazing from the beginning.”

Leavell is a dynamic athlete who has offers from Power Four programs to play on either side of the football. Tennessee likes him as a defensive back, so this is what he focused on during the practice setting on Tuesday.

“I focused on what they were working on, how they coached up players, how they developed guys,” Leavell said on this. “I think (want me at) corner, but I think it’s going to be, really, anywhere.”

Leavell has continued to connect with Tennessee’s Anthony Poindexter since the Vols offered him.

“They’ve been contacting me every day, just asking me how I am, checking up on me, asking about school and my family,” Leavell said on this.

The standout athlete enjoyed spending more time in person with Poindexter on Tuesday during the visit.

“I learned he’s, like, a player’s guy,” Leavell said. “He’s somebody that you can talk to about anything. He’s willing to take time and put his all into the player and the person.”

The mid-state prospect grew up a fan of the Vols, and he noted that having the offer does carry some weight in his process.

“I’ve always been a UT fan,” he said. “It’s been my dream to be here in this position, so I’m blessed. It’s hard to believe. I can’t even put it into words on how unbelievable it is, and surreal.

“I think (having been a Tennessee fan) will make a difference when it comes down to it,” Leavell added. “I mean, like I said, I’ve always dreamed of being at a school like this with the type of energy like this, so I think it’s going to come down to something like that.”

Leavell is hearing from a number of other programs, including Florida State, North Carolina State, and Purdue. He has planned multiple official visits, and he plans to return to Knoxville in June as well.

At this point, what stands out about the Vols for the mid-state prospect?

“What they can put into me, and what I can get out of it and be able to apply to the next few years of my life,” Leavell said.
As Leavell works through the process, he knows what will be important to him.

“I want to see where I can be in the next few years, whether it’s the NFL, whether it’s applying for my first big job,” Leavell said. “I mean, just where I can be in the next few years.”

In-state athlete Brandon “Slim” Leavell was on campus earlier in the week and his visit did not disappoint. He left with high remarks about Tennessee. The recent offer and visit has put Tennessee in a nice position heading into the summer as he is feeling like a priority. Tennessee likes him in the secondary, while he has offers from other programs to play at wide receiver. He says this is not something that will play a major factor in his decision.

In-state ATH Brandon “Slim” Leavell has continued to see new teams come into play, with Florida and Maryland both recently extending offers. He was back in town for the spring game, and he again left impressed. He continues to report that he views Tennessee as a top choice, and it certainly feels like the Vols have set the pace heading into official visits. Florida State, N.C. State and Purdue are among the other programs set to get an official visit currently. We will see if that changes up any in the coming weeks.

Slim Leavell will also be in town next weekend, and the Vols continue to be a constant as his recruitment surges. Anthony Poindexter was in to check in on him again recently, and Leavell told us Poindexter has continued to do an excellent job of answering all of his questions. Things are trending very hard in this one.

Another case of a rating not matching an offer list.
Pretty good top 5. I’m not that familiar with Goodpasture’s LOC.

Wonder if they hurriedly scheduled this one to soften the Chandler nut kick lol. Nah I’d heard a while back that Leavell could be a May boom.

Be glad to have him.

The fact that Pointdexter has seemingly been all in on this kid really gets me excited. I think he could be a good one. My only concern would be his size. Is he a safety or star or corner? The attention from AP makes me think safety. But hes gonna have to spend some time with our SC staff and gain some size if thats his future position - if his listed weight in the 160s in accurate.
