TN Commit's Ranking Over Time, 2026 Class

Updated.

Removed Outlaw and added Wolf.

8 Rankings Improved, 2 stayed the same, 13 fell.

A lot of the scores that fell don't worry me.

One guy reclassified that is top 10, so everyone below dropped one spot just due to that. That one spot drop accounts was all of 2 of our drops . This actually makes all of the gains 1 better than they appear.
4 of the other drops are what I call the "placeholder" rankings that are just lumped together, and always have multiples, see our guys with the 629 and 848 rankings.

Osenda climbed almost 100 spots from 232 to 145. and TJ White jumped from 112 to 68. Both of those jumps are larger than any of the drops we experienced.

Overall we were a net 52 spots gained. and that's even including the drops I qualified above. I don't have enough data on Wolf to say how his rankings have changed as a Vol.

The traitors:

Tyson Bacon continues to plummet he was 90/#292 with us, and is now 87/#932 with Miami
Tyran Evans has slid after his initial Miami bump, went from 88/#500 with us to a peak of 89/#375 with Miami, to now 88/#461.
Brandon Anderson continues his drop from 90/#267 with us to 88/#460 with Missouri
Braylon Outlaw saw a modest jump after dropping us, from 87/#701 to 87/#694
JB Shabazz went from a 91/#247 to 91/249 with UNC
Carson Sneed continues his drop as well from 90/#272 to 88/#532 with UNC.

For what its worth, some "interesting to probably only me" things.

this was probably the most flips and decommits I have tracked in any given single week. 9 flips or decommits, only one of the non-committed committed.

and thats not counting two guys I was tracking as part of the '26 class who reclassified down to '27. One of those might have just dropped football all together.

Ped State lost 2 of the 3 I was tracking for them.
I think literally every single Miami commit I have on my list saw a rankings drop
Pretty much every single ND recruit seemed to jump up the list.
It feels like Bama and Georgia recruits didn't change much on the net, some went up, others down.
None of the UF recruits I am tracking have decommitted. and while its early same for Auburn. may be too early, or could be a sign that NIL is keeping them in place...for now.

@McDad

I see you lurking here. 247 themselves still has not updated Tyreek Kings ranking. I don't know if 247 has done any updates, but whatever they are doing still hasn't reached King yet.

They still have him ranked as the 56th best WR, even though his composite score is 11th best WR.

took some time to look at the rankings that make up these composites, and there are a couple players getting drug down by one service, its not just King.

Osenda is WAY down Rivals list. they only have him as #43 OT. the other two have him as #4 and #20.

King, as mentioned is hurt by 247. #54 WR, but #7 and #9 on the others.

Rivals is also much lower on Albert than the others, #39DT vs #24 & #29

Rivals is also low on Anderson #36CB vs #16 and #24

Baker is also hurt by rivals #173IOL vs #54, and $62

If those one rankings "averaged out" all of them would see pretty big jumps. when two of the position rankings are with 10 of less of each other, and one is FAR beyond that 10, it raises some questions for me.

Golston and Wolf are strange cases, kinda the opposite of the others. ESPNs ranking is dragging both of them up, Golston #12 DE vs #44 and #51, and Wolf #10TE vs #79 and #80.

updated 11/18/25. dropped Bey
On3 had a big update, which impacted the 247 composite I use. just about everyone I track score changed. and apparently On3 hates us. 17 of our 24 dropped. 1 remained the same, 6 rose.

on the good side, our biggest drop was 13 spots, and it was one of the "place holder" rankings. Ossenda, and Anderson both saw big jumps, Anderson's was 118 spots.

on the net we were +98 spots, over 23 recruits we averaged a 4 spot increase per recruit.

Our average ranking continues to climb 91.97 would be the #218th recruit.

traitors:
Bacon continues to drop for Miami, from #292 with UT to #926 with Miami
Anderson also continues to drop for Missouri, from 267 to 471
Outlaw is still technically up from dropping us #701 to #700
Tyran Evans has seen his stock plummet for Miami was #500 with UT, made it to #375 with Miami, now #637
Bey shot up with Ohio State, from #361 to #255
Shabazzz drops some more for UNC, from #247 w/ UT to #355 with UNC
Speaking of UNC, Sneed has dropped from #272 to #541

There were 6 commitments or flips. 3 of them went to Ohio State, including Bey.
speaking of OSU, of the 5 players I am tracking of theirs 3 went down, 2 went up, with one of those increases being a single spot.

I am tracking 6 Bama guys, 4 rose, 2 dropped, one only dropped a single spot.

TAMU, Oregon, and Miami players consistently dropped

of course after literally a month of no updates to 247's composite, they have 2 on back to back days. I will work on updating the update.

On3 has become a joke ever since they decided to drop their own rankings during the merger with Rivals and use whatever dumb dipshit Charlie Powers is using

*sigh*
basing the changes noted below on difference yesterday and today.

13 down 2 the same 8 went up.
thankfully once again, the ups outweighed the downs. We gained a net 137 spots, over 23 recruits that is almost 6 spots per recruit UP. we now have an average class ranking of 92.04 which would be the 219th best recruit in the nation.

big change was Javonte Smith +251 spots
biggest drop was Albert -59
TJ White continues his rise.
King finally got a somewhat bump from 247 itself. up to 108 in the composite after 247 changed him from an 89/#56 WR, to a 90/#53 WR @McDad
Blair saw a big jump, 72 spots
Hezekiah Harris continues to slide. lost 63 spots

the place holder rankings once again dropped.

to illustrate why the "place holder" rankings don't bother me when they drop (4 of our drops were these guys)

not only will multiple recruits have the same ranking and score, but 247's composite will list some guys multiple times. This time the ones I saw all had the same grade and ranking, but in the past the same player has two different rankings and scores. It doesn't affect things much, but its just one of those things when you are looking at this data you have to take it with a grade of slaw.

ok, I added the guys who committed on signing day. I had a LITTLE info on them. I am going to do some summaries now. I am going to do a general how did the UT commits do, and then based on timing I am going to try and look at the overall picture, to see how UT did compared to that, and then try to look at some specific schools for comparison.

I am making comparisons to two different start points. and a reminder the way I present stuff is something like 99/#3. which means that players "grade" is 99, while their overall ranking is #3. a (+) means the score improved/got better.

The first is when I first started tracking them. IMO this tells us how good our staff is at evaluatings.
-Per recruit we were a net +1.2/+25. (grade went up 1.2 and ranking went up 25 spots_PER RECRUIT average).
-3 guys saw both their grade, and score drop.
-5 guys saw their grade RISE but their ranking DROP.
-4 guys saw their grade stay the same, but ranking Dropped.
-1 guy grade didn't change, but ranking rose.
-11 guys saw their grade and ranking rise.

the second number is the change from when they committed to us vs where they ended up. This is what I have been thinking of as: Does 247 hate us. This will not include any of the guys who committed on signing day, there were no changes to track.
-Per recruit we were a net +1/+34 (grade went up 1, and ranking went up 34 spots_per recruit average)
-2 guys saw both their grade and ranking drop.
-4 guys saw their grade rise but their ranking drop.
-6 guys saw their grade stay the same, but their rankings dropped.
-7 guys saw both their grade and ranking rise.

the reason this may seem weird with more guys dropping but our average going up, is because a lot of the guys whose ranking dropped, only dropped single digits. (6 of 14). but conversely all of the increases were double digits. Only 2 guys rankings dropped by triple digits, but 6 guys ranking rose by triple digits.

so it seems like 247 hates everyone.

of the 121 players I tracked, only 38 went up.
our 26 recruits were 21% of the players I tracked but our recruits accounted for 29% of the increases.

Meaning our coaches did markedly better than just randomly picking players from this somewhat arbitrary list I have.

making it more impressive is that even though it was really only 11 of our 26 that got better rankings, we were a net positive on the rankings (+652) vs the overall for the list was (-5641), and that includes our positives.

so not only did the coaches far out perform the average in pure numbers, but also in how the overall class did. Overall players I tracked lost 46 spots, but our guys gained 33 spots. thats 79 "rankings" of difference which is quite significant.

Bey is the one they will point too. but will ignore White, Ossenda, Anderson, and others all having big climbs AFTER they committed to us.

they will also ignore that 5 of the other 6 who decommitted all lost spots, and a bunch of them. the one guy who improved didn't improve much.

Not to be confused with @mrmax86 thread where we track TN's rankings, this thread is to track how our individual players do. Basically: Does 247's Composite hate us?

I will update this with players as they commit. I will post their current ranking, any past ranking I have noted, and will update as others commit, or try to update once a month if there is no commitment. Players will be listed in the order they commit.

I only track the history of players that show up on the visits. There are way too many to individually track otherwise, and while I could use the history function, that typically only shows how an individual service ranks them, and its a lot of work to click thru each player individually.

I am using 247 because I had started doing this before On3 was a thing, and I don't feel like switching. this is 247's Composite ranking.

the first number is their "grade", and the second number is their ranking. I will also note when they commit with an asterisks.

"NA" means 247's composite didn't have a ranking for the player at the time. I haven't found an official reason for this but I am guessing its because only 1 service had him ranked at the time, so there is no way to do the composite. Also seems that every other service can have a guy ranked, but if 247 doesn't then their composite doesn't either.

depending on feedback I may or may not continue tracking this on VN.

UPDATED 12/18/25 this will be my last update to the chart below. No real changes in the scores just adding players who committed.

Although our 2026 class is GREAT. I'm starting to wonder if it matters. I think it was "J" on sports talk that stated that of the 25 commits we had in the 2023 class (Nico's class), only 10 remain on our roster. How the heck can a coach build a team? 🤪 🤪 🤪
