TN Commit David Oku

We aren't hurting at RB right now so it isn't a necessity that we get Oku. It'd be nice to have him, but he's not a Marlon Brown type for us.

If he wants to play and play early he won't goto auburn...they have 4 rb commits..he would make 5..how would that work??

Auburn has 4 RB commits, and arent they going to the spread ??
he would get max 5 carries per game..

now cmon Oku, just think about it...

if he goes there he is stupid and will be pissed by the end of his first year b/c of having to share the ball so much with everyone else

Oku has GOT to think about what can get him to the NFL as a RB..
and the spread is not the way..
look at USC's RB's.. thats what UT is going to look like the next few years..
He will be our Playmaking RB, if only he'd really think about whats best for him..

I really cant believe he wouldnt wanna come here and be "The Man"

If Oku wants to go to Syracuse just because of Stan Drayton, good riddance.

We signed 1 RB this year and that was one with a completely different style. I think Oku comes back now seeing that we missed out on Lacy and Hardy. I still think Bryce Brown is a long, long shot.

Anybody know why this kid dos not like us anymore ????

From the papers I've read. He is having some sort of nervous breakdown and spazzing out right now. He wants all the coaches to leave him alone and stop calling him. He is just freaking out right now. Hopefully he can pull it together and chose the college best for him. I really truly hope its UT tho.

Oku has been a bit dramatic lately (understatement, I know), but really, can you imagine the pressure? Think about it. He's got Coach O after him(or whoever TN has recruiting him now), plus his previous two Tennessee recruiters pulling him to other schools. Say whatever you want about Drayton and Troop; they are both good/ very good recruiters who, for better or for worse, develop strong bonds with the players they go after. They are so good that they succeeded in pulling Oku to the vols. His feelings/ ego probably got a bit hurt when CLK and CEO started bringing in fresh talent, and Drayton and Troop probably jumped on it. I suspect he may also be one of those guys that was turned off by the intensity/ discipline/ competition pitch the CEO talked about in the presser.

I'd say there's still a chance that we get him, if he's ready to man up. Big life decision for a kid that age. Lord knows I screwed up my choice of colleges twice... and then I ended up at UT.

qft...sometimes we forget the kids are human beings with emotions and fear and not just mindless robots programmed to gain yards and touchdowns...or prevent them if they are a defensive player :p

I don't think he is even considering us anymore. Usually when a kid pulls a commitment, it means that team is out.
