I just don't get that. Giles was more of a threat to take carries away from Oku than Brown given their similar styles. Someone is in his ear about Bryce Brown.
I would bet the house that it is Trooper. He has to come up with some excuse as to why Oku would get more playing time at Auburn even though they just signed a slew of RBs.
He wasn't as confused until he visited Auburn. I don't think Syracuse was ever a true player, but Auburn is a real possibility. I just don't know how he can look at that depth chart and think he has a better shot than he would here.
I understand how most of this probably went down, but what I don't get is the Oku - CEG relationship. I thought he camped at Auburn and liked Gran.
I don't think this has anything to do with relationships. Oku was the higher ranked back when Giles was committed. It's universally thought that Brown is the better back. Oku wants to be the top back signed and is only looking to see where Brown goes before deciding. As long as Bryce doesn't come to UT then we land Oku.

If it has nothing to do with relationships then why would he visit the Cuse in sub-zero temps right after Drayton got there? Why would he be interested in OkSt until Trooper leaves then he happens to take a visit to the school that Trooper goes to?
This has ALOT to do with relationships. Not saying that BB doesn't play a factor, because he does. But you are fooling yourself if you think this isn't about personal relationships with position coaches.
It think this will get worse in time. May be not to that extent, but if will be an issue in the future.
If they change the rule based on what 3 individuals do that would be stupid. Now if the entire Rivals 100 does it then I can understand.
Even if 10 guys or 15 guys do it, it doesn't matter. No one is REQUIRED to sign a LOI to play football. The only ones it really irritates for the most part are the fans, and most are pretty irritated by 3 guys really.
Are you serious, Eric? That's like saying that we shouldn't have a murder law because only a certain percentage of the population are murderers.
There needs to be a rule change, if not restricting the signing period then at least limiting official visits to prior to signing day. It's ridiculous that schools have to spend time/money/efforts into continuing to recruit these guys when they should already be concentrating on next year's class and spring ball.
If you think the fans are the only ones irritated by this, you haven't been paying attention to the coaches comments on the matter in interviews. When schools have to spend money chasing these guys that should have already committed, it's irritating to a lot of people - the fans are just a small part of that. I think a lot of the fans enjoy it actually because it gives them something to talk about in a normally very quiet period.
