'20 TN ATH Reggie Grimes (Oklahoma commit)

How do you figure? We have 1 kid committed as a pass rusher. (We don't really know what French is yet). And Jimari Butler is a massive project. He needs AT LEAST a year in the S&C program, and the kid has only played 1 year of football. I really like him, but he is not an immediate impact guy, and we have a need at the position.

We have an outside shot at Morven Joseph, and other than that I can't name one pass rusher at this moment we're in a good spot with.

Reggie Grimes is a physical beast who hasn't tapped in to his potential as a football player. Is there a risk that he doesn't have the traits to tap into it? Sure. But we don't have pass rushers beating down the door to come here right now like a Bama or LSU. Take a flyer on this kid. Smart, super athletic, and good pedigree.
This dude is a bigger project than that "massive project" Jimari Butler..

Call me when Grimes gets within a dozen sacks and TFLs of JB...yawn..

It's kinda hard to get 20 sacks when your opponents don't throw the ball

All I'm saying is, if you're gonna miss on a guy, miss 6'4 250, 4.58, 34 vert.

Imo Maliek's problem was he was a tweener position wise. Not big enough to be a LB not really quick enough to be a safety. I understand the trepidation based on him.
I don't get or like the lack of production from this dude, it speaks to a serious lack of givaisht or some other quality, but if the staff really wants, and takes him that is good enough for me.

I think that's Princeton Fants problem....Too big and slow for a WR. Too small to get any push as a TE....Hes built like an ILB, but he wouldn't hit anyone when he tried him out there last season.

That guy thinks every player TN is remotely talking to is an all american. Grain of salt
He mentioned in a previous podcast that he was one of those players who looks great in summer camps but not so great in actual games, but you do have a valid point about his hype.

I posted back in July what a HS coach told me about him. Seems to be accurate

I believe it. I just think if we’re gonna take a chance on Kyree Miller, whose offer list is honestly unimpressive, then we can take one on this kid

Agree. Not sure UT can afford not take a chance on him. Maybe he’s bored in HS. But, that lack of “energy” is hard to turn on. Especially when it’s never been on.

There are some 3 star DL and Edge players still uncommitted in Georgia that are better than both these guys.

Grimes...just isn't a football player.

Baron is kind of a tweener, but I have seen him make plays. Baron is a considerably better football player than Grimes.
Wonder how recruiting services come up with their numbers, must be parents dropping offbags of cash. Shame some of you experts aren't hired to recruit.
