'20 TN ATH Reggie Grimes (Oklahoma commit)

Wonder how recruiting services come up with their numbers, must be parents dropping offbags of cash. Shame some of you experts aren't hired to recruit.
They are "our" opinions. Just like recruiting services have their opinions. Funny thing, both are wrong quite often.

With that being said. I don't pretend to know more than they do. I just repeated what a HS coach said about Grimes during the summer. And, I have seen him several times and was not impressed. The two 3 star guys at BGA are better (IMO) than the #1 ranked Grimes.

The rankings are primarily based off camp participation.

You do realize college programs have their own in house recruiting service, don't you?
And a few of them are on here. And a few of them get evaluations wrong too. Sorry to inform you, but Pruitt isn't waiting for 247s top 100 list to update to set his own board...

Grimes got his ranking based off his father's legacy, physical testing, and physical appearance.

Bryan Aiken was a much better player than Grimes and it showed as they were on the same team, yet "Recruiting Services " couldn't reflect it....

Butch is.

There are some folks who say Grimes has it. Ill take my chances.

Have you actually watched the kid play? If not STFU and go on already. People are entitled to their opinions. He’s a good kid if we were to take him I don’t think he would be anything but positive in the locker room. That said he just doesn’t jump out as an elite player.

Kid is rated highly bc he’s the son of a former Bama player, he looks good in drills, and he is a physical specimen. Recruiting services thought he would be a lock to Bama.

Pruitt obviously is an ESPN recruiting service guy. What else would you expect from a dirty Bammer?

Thank you all knowing one.

Don't be sorry, inform away, just realize I don't think you know sh-t and won't give any consideration to your info.

Pruitt does not recruit off of offer lists.
Oh damn he doesn't? Thank you so much! Keep your line to Pruitt open, it will be handy here.

Let's be honest, Miller is a contingency plan. If we had Ratledge, Morris, and say Dumervil committed he never gets the offer. I hope he works out because he looks like a promising run blocker, but he's a project with a ton of bad weight and poor technique.

Look I’m just saying if you’re thinking fans are ignorant bc they have a different opinion from “professional recruiting services” that get paid to evaluate for a living, it’s just stupid. 247 and Rivals get paid by the fans not college football programs, they pose as professional evaluators but they have as much merit as some “ignorant fans”. Now they have kind of learned to hedge their bets by adjusting rankings bc of offers from schools that traditionally get kids to the league but they’re still pretty clueless as evaluators. You do realize universities actually have professional recruiting services that they get evaluations from, ones that get paid well for evaluating.

Maybe but if Pruitt didn’t think he wasn’t a player then he wouldn’t have offered him..... this isn’t butch jones.

You're right about Ratledge and the others but Miller was hand picked and offered by Chaney so obviously he saw something on the tape, you need to chill with being a Debby-downer on kids that haven't played a down here yet

Miller... plays mean. He's honestly the kind of OL that teams like Mizzou pick up and develop into really good players. Find the right size and frame but most importantly the nasty disposition. UT's recent history shows a lot of "stars" with the right measurables... who just don't play with the right level of aggression. Like a lot of things in recruiting the right guys... some people are more naturally aggressive than others.

I won't be shocked if the kid loses about 40 lbs and becomes a very good OL or even NT.

Their builds are somewhat different but style of play wise reminds me a lot of JJ Weaver from a couple of years ago. Weaver got a lot of hype because of his athleticism and speed but all he has is one move, a pure speed rush around the tackle. Doesn't have any other moves to compensate once that is taken away.

I appreciate the football related response.
I agree he has a mean streak and could easily end up contributing here.
Def needs the S&C program, also gets away with bullying smaller guys in his high school games.
And not being a SA, but if he is a Mizzou type guy, why no offer?

The year CJP took the job he went at the last possible minute and got some nice players. Seems like he is in that mode now with more obvious talents on the board. But tbh if they can play I’m obviously fine with it
