Are we wasting time even thinking of Gruden coming to Knoxville? I think we should just face facts, move on to the next, and concentrate on that person (or two or three people), and throw all of our resources into that.
I think Gruden is either playing around, getting his name out there for advertising dollars, or maneuvering for an NFL offer.

I know this is probably a merge waiting to happen.![]()

Funny because people who believe Gruden is a strong possibility are the actual ones who care about being National Title Contenders again.
Were tired of being mediocre while some of yall are ok with it.

I see this as the most likely reason why Currie has not addressed the rumors that have reached a national level. If all the focus is on Gruden then he can almost freely reach out to Mulllen, Patterson, Frost....hope we go no further than that lol.
I am just not sure he is in touch with the impact it is having on the vocal minority that are 100% convinced Gruden is a done deal. Maybe its insignificant but anyone I talk to its all they talk about and many will give no other coach a chance. It has to also affect any prospective candidates view of the job especially in regards to the fan base and the Boosters who have leaked what I consider false information to create an outcry in the fanbase for Gruden.
Hopefully, unless the 1% chance Gruden is actually considering an offer, that the AD will at the very least issue a press release stating they reached out to Gruden and he was not interested a few days before announcing the hire and give it a few days to simmer down. It seems to already be doing so as the Gruden thread is hitting the brakes on posts so I think people are coming to the realization that he is not going to be the next HC.
see, this is the attitude i'm talking about.
that's simply not true. you don't get your "true fan" card punched because you believe he's a strong possibility.
we, y'all....
what difference does that make when he doesn't take the job? then where do you go? how do you exercise your superiority over the rest of us that just want mediocre football?

How about not settling for Safe Hires?
How many of those have been working out for us here lately?
I think most of us are tired of our fans downplaying expectations.
