Time to Move on From Gruden Talk?

Are we wasting time even thinking of Gruden coming to Knoxville? I think we should just face facts, move on to the next, and concentrate on that person (or two or three people), and throw all of our resources into that.

I think Gruden is either playing around, getting his name out there for advertising dollars, or maneuvering for an NFL offer.

See the link from his broadcasting partner.

ESPN broadcaster Sean McDonough on partner Jon Gruden: 'He's not going to Tennessee'

I know this is probably a merge waiting to happen. :)

The Gruden talk is embarrassing to the fanbase so yeah.

Told you my thoughts on this yesterday. It's so much more than just Gruden.

I thought if we hired Gruden, or even tried really hard, it would mean that the "powers that be" have actually changed and are putting more emphasis on winning.

Knowing we pushed hard for guys like Gruden or Kelly, whether we got them or not, would make me feel better about whoever we end up with.

Seems Florida has tried to get and has a shot at Kelly. I know some here don't want him anyway, but did we even call? Even if we had no real interest, don't you at least call? Maybe we did, I don't know. I'm not hearing anything solid about anyone, except Gruden and the only thing solid in him is the theory. No need to tell me what you or anyone else thinks about that, I already know. Haha.
i agree with everything you have said here, and my post wasn't directed at "everyone", and i know you know that.

you've seen the type of attitude i'm talking about in those threads. that's what i was getting at.

and i should at least get credit for not posting these thoughts in any of the gruden threads.:p

I know Jake. There is some stupid in threads with 50 posts. Gruden has over 300,000. Do the math. :)

Guarantee if Gruden came out and flat denied it there would still be a large faction that would point to the Saban comment about the Bama job and not change their mind, and in fact use it as further confirmation.

I want Gruden as much as anybody but I think this is a case of people wanting to believe instead of having good reasons to believe. If anything said won’t matter anyway, I think both Currie and Gruden have nothing to lose by just not commenting. Gruden about his job prospects, and Currie about his coaching candidates.

I don’t think he is coming, and it’s not because I don’t want it.

I just don't understand why it bothers so many people as bad as it does. It's a message board. Thank the good Lord we aren't limited to talking about what just one person wants to talk about.

Don't really care, just don't understand it.

I think there's a good reason why the real Gruden thread has hundreds of thousands of posts and this one will die in two days.

What is that reason ? Technically there have been 39 Gruden threads, all saying the same things. Does that somehow make them anymore true?

Even freak said the threads were stupid in his safe spacr proclamation. Although he said it alot nicer, calling them "lighthearted fun."
