Time is a flat circle at Tennessee

This is actually only the second time since 2007 we’ve both won 2 games in October and swept November.

Only the second time since 2010 that we’ve done even one of those two things.

October is less bloody and November more scorching than it’s been in a while here. Gotta love the improvement.

I am not sure what to think about this post, but it feels like another fan looking at a glass half empty again. Had UT won Ga State and BYU, not sure it would have changed any of the Negavol's opinion of the season, but as a great man once said.............You can't fix stupid.

Go Vols!!
What is stupid about facts? I don’t understand how mentioning things that actually happened in real life makes anyone a “negavol”.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

The last time we ended a season this way we followed it up with a 9-4 record.

To act like this is the same as the past few years doesn’t tell the whole story, because it’s really not like recent years. Plenty of good reason for an optimistic offseason right now.

That September hiccup was a doozy, though!

Feelings aren't hurt. Won't reconsider. All points lie on a plane. Unless they are coplanar. Just wondering why you would pick out my pic to attack considering previous ones showed a wreath and a dude with girl's legs circularly splayed out. Are you picking on me because I'm new to the site or just because you are you?

I'm not "half full" or "half empty"...................I'm, "Are you going to finish that?"
I see you didn't understand my meaning.. There is something beyond seeing the glass half full or, especially, half empty. There are some, as seen on this very board, that are so cynical that they would take the stance that the water is contaminated anyway, so the amount in the glass doesn't matter.

The big questions right now are the same they were with Butch, regardless of how we got here.

Can we finish strong with recruiting?
Can we take this momentum into the next year?
Can we continue to improve our record next year?
Can we repeat steps one and two?

If all answers are yes, that means we can expect at least 9 wins in 2020 (Pruitt’s 3rd season) and at least ten wins by Pruitt’s 4th season. If we do that, Pruitt will deserve a massive extension as we enter 2022 with reasonable expectations to compete for the whole dang thing in Pruitt’s 5th season.

These are the fair expectations for Pruitt. Nothing more, nothing less. We gave him five years to restore us to national prominence. Let’s give him five years. While he hasn’t done much more than Butch has from a record perspective, he is on par with the agreement we made with him and he seems to be doing some things that Butch was not during this time.

Handling the media and fans well
Handling his players and football team culture well
Recruiting to his system
Building a proven staff
Establishing a winning record in the SEC
Getting the AD to pull out the check book (granted much of this has to do with Fulmer)
Winning in November and October
Developing the talent he has

These are all extremely important aspects to building a championship program, and these are the intangibles that I believe will take Pruitt and oor program past where Butch was able to get us. Butch was about bricks, but Pruitt with the help and support from Fulmer (you know that HOF guy who won an NC and we fired), has laid a foundation and is more concerned with the mortar, so our program doesn’t crumble like it did with Butch after he got us to two 9 win seasons.

I know it would have changed everything in my opinion. Although the season finished strong just think if we had won those two games that we were supposed to have won. We would be looking at 9 and 3 and a top 15 football team. Those losses are hard to get over. Of course I'm not at Negavol so I can't speak for all them. A lot of people say I am though because I'm not constantly pumping sunshine.

An optimistic offseason -> A September hiccup -> A bloody October -> A scorching November -> A misleading bowl performance against a weaker foe -> An optimistic offseason -> A September hiccup -> A bloody October -> A scorching November -> A misleading bowl performance against a weaker foe -> An optimistic offseason -> A September hiccup -> A bloody October -> A scorching November -> A misleading bowl performance against a weaker foe -> ∞

optimism not in your vocabulary?

A circle by definition is flat. If it isn't, it may have a circular path but it isn't a circle.

@Juanita That's a disc, not a circle.
If it is just a circle, it can be flat. But I look at it from all sides, and it appears more like a sphere. Hopefully a "Sphere of Death" for UGA, Missouri, Vandy, UK, USCjr, MSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, A&M.......and maybe someday, The Gators and The Tide.

Let’s just all agree that Tennessee has had a flat tire for the past decade.

Yes, but also, time doesn’t exist. So there we are...

A circle can only exist in a single plane. However, our sphere of death can been seen on many planes which would then create a deadly sphere of influence.
