Tim Priest was livid

The thing about arm chair coaches - had plays been called differently and failed - then the armchair coaches would be saying - why didn't they call play X which they did?

Hindsight allows 'arm chair' coaches to always win and never lose.

Arm chair coaches have no clue what the team practiced. They have no clue what the game plan was. They have no clue as to whether the play failed because of execution or because the other team guessed right.

Arm chair coaches don't put the hard work that this team (which includes both coaches and players) puts in getting ready for the game.

All they are are BIG MOUTHS who think they KNOW EVERYTHING and use that to spin fans into a frenzy.

So tired of some in the fan base.

Peyton Manning was very lucky that he played at Tennessee before social media was prevalent.

Bad thing was, I was not hind sighting. I was saying that LIVE. While the game was going on.

Priest was trying really hard to hold back there. We all know exactly what he was feeling and what he wanted to say.

I have a very good understanding of football enough to know that one series of plays in the first half generally don't decide the outcome of a football game.

You must not of watched the game because the series in question did not happen in the 1st half it happened in the 3rd qt. It did not lose the game. Butch lost the game from start to finish. You can defend him all you but it wont work.

Butch lost the game with his time management . Not running the clock down and taking it to overtime destroyed our chance of winning. That was the biggest and most costly mistake of the night and thats all on Butch.

He's done a hell of a lot more for the vols than Butch ever will.

Leeching off of yesterday doesn't count. What has he done that's productive lately besides padding his pockets for what he did 40 years ago mostly off of John Wards coat tail?

UT's career interception record holder is surely as qualified as anyone in the Volnation, including John Ward, to give an analysis of a set of downs that ... ended in an interception.

Honest question, is it being an arm chair coach when every person with a minimum of high school football experience knows how to handle the down and distance situation? Some things in football are fundamental and come down to execution.
Our coaches tried to trick the defense and called bad plays. And yes it's still poor fundamental football.
Please stop with the defending the coaches. They know they f'd up. Why don't you?

Did you just seriously bring up one of the fluke loses to defend Butch?

Really?

And the Nebraska loss was in a major bowl and if we win, a possible NC

Nothing compares to what Butch did

Well, except LSU in 2010 and Kentucky 2012

Agree and those Nebraska teams were stacked. This Florida team was not.

3 missed field goals didn't help. We lost a game we should have won and won a game we should have lost (GT). I wish we could reverse the two outcomes.

If you sat back and really focused on what you just posted, you would see the big point. We should have rolled GT. We shouldnt have needed a miracle play to beat them.

I put zero blame on our kicker. A true FR expected to hit 50 yard FGs on the road, in the Swamp no less, in his first start? Yeah thats not his fault. Thats Butch's fault for putting us in that position. Now if those missed FGs were 30 or so yards? Then he deserves some blame.

GT being frame as some epic performance is comical.

You would have thought it was UT/Miami in NO

Look at the context, competition, and did UT win the game?

I'm almost convinced that Dobbs bailed this coaching staff out quite a bit the last few years. That's where the comebacks come into play. Think back to how many games the Vols would start out terrible, get behind on the scoreboard and then Josh Dobbs would take over and the comeback was on. I would throw Kamara into that mix but he was primarily the BACKUP!!

This is often true. On the series highlighted here, and the final one where we failed to run down the clock, those were inexcusable coaching errors that nobody with any sense would make.

Bad thing was, I was not hind sighting. I was saying that LIVE. While the game was going on.

You and many, many, many, many others. Me included. I ate gator meat before the game and everything, and it was all wasted effort on my part! :p

Never saw Jumper get ran over. But, don't let facts get in the way of your rant.

Oh, then you missed the stiff arm to Jumper's face on the scoring drive at the end in which Jumper shudv stopped him on a 2 yard gain but he got stiff armed and the runner got another 5 yards

Tell that to Clemson, tell that to South Carolina, tell that to every team that runs the GUN. Most teams that run the GUN do NOT go under center even when it is 3 and very short.

If we go under the center, fumble the ball or lose 5, I guarantee you all of you are complaining about that.

That ONE series is NOT what lost this game.

Yeah that is not true.

It started it

It takes a nudge to make the rock roll down hill

After that, I knew we had lost the game. You cant make idiotic mistakes like that on the road.

Then he did it again

The guy is a walking testament of what not to do

Told my whole family after that mess, "these points will come back to haunt UT."

Most of us work for a living. When we screw up at our jobs, we get criticized, regardless of how hard we worked. Either you get the job done right or you don't get it done right, and when you don't, you get criticized. That's how things work in the real world.

Someday, when you work or when you're a paying customer and don't get your money's worth, you'll understand.

He is probably a millennial and everyone gets a trophy.

We weren't the only pissed off UT fans in Atlanta last night. I had to diffuse this one, pretty funny though.

Oh did I mention I hate Butch Jones?

Anyone notice that Falcons and Packers both had first and goal at the one??? There were no pass plays and two TD. Please take notes coaching staff.
