The lack of holding calls made both offensive lines look better than they were in my humble opinion.

I don't think the defense is as bad as we feel that they are. With 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter Florida had 21 points. The way our offense plays, I'm okay with that. Sure, they didn't close the game out well as a defense, and that is definitely something to work on. But I don't think they're far away from where they need to be.

I saw poor tackleing, a lot of missed tackles. I'm not sure Mitchell is an upgrade over Beasley at this point...Omari Thomas is a grown a$$ man ! My hope is that this season gets parlayed into a top five class heavy on the defensive side of the ball. I would like to see more pressures dialed up... when You smell blood... You attack.

Yes, it’s Banks’ responsibility but I would put the questions to Willie Martinez. I agree with Hyams, Tim Irwin, Doug Matthews this morning: it looks like we just don’t yet have the players we need in the secondary. No Dale Carters or Eric Berrys (or guys even close to that level) who play close to the guys they’re covering and ready to lay the wood and take their heads off. Once again, our secondary makes a decent QB look like an All American Heisman candidate. Unacceptable.

Coach Martinez, what is the problem and what are you doing about it? This needs to get fixed yesterday. If we don’t yet have the players we need, must we wait until we get these new DB recruits in? If so, what are you doing about this until they get here?

So many times, we don’t even have a DB within five yards of a wide-open receiver. This happened all afternoon yesterday. And then our guys seem to have forgotten how to tackle.

Our secondary remains our Achilles Heel.

I have to disagree with the defense being soft. I've seen them out physical a higher ranked team than Florida was. You can't press the WR's & play man when you got a 6'5 250lb running QB. He would have ran for 200 yards & both of his RB's would be able to get going. You don't blitz him because that clears up the passing lanes for him and he is highly capable of escaping. The game plan was to make AR win with his arm from the pocket. Give that kid credit. He played great but not great enough to win, which is the entire point.

13 QB hurries and a sack. Kentucky had 3 and 1, respectively. We gave him the most pressure he has faced this year, we just don’t have the backfield talent to take advantage.

If coach Heupel is to take this program to the next level, he must do something to shore up the defense. I think we need a new D coordinator, and our secondary is really bad. So I would look at replacing the D Backs coach, too. But even more than coaching upgrades, we simply need better players on defense, especially CB's and Safeties. If we go on to a 9 - 3 or 10 - 2 regular season, nothing will be done unless someone moves on to a better job. We damn near lost yesterday to a mediocre, for them, FL team because we couldn't stop them, and got too conservative on our last drive. One more first down, and the game would have been over.

Tim Banks is a good coach trying to bandage a defense which has a lot of holes to fix. We are going to recruit better defensive players, especially in the defensive secondary and at linebacker. It is difficult to play defense in the SEC without SEC talent in all positions. We are getting there and will be there in another two years.

Let's see....year 1 he has a hastily put together team after NFL and oops I got illegal benefit defections. Defense porous because they have NO depth and are playing twice as many snaps as anyone else in the country. Year 2 (game 4 BTW) team has slightly more depth but still have a lot of players with limited experience. He is playing a bend don't break style. Still raw, but show moments of what might be in the future. Throwing more chaos in the mix by replacing the DC before he gets the horses he needs to run his scheme the way he wants will not make it better. At some point this fan base has to learn just the slightest bit of patience. This coaching staff has shown more real, tangible improvement than the last 4 staff's combined. Let them get through this year before you throw the baby out with the bath water.

Yep, add more chaos and confusion. Of the new coordinator doesn't field a shutdown defense immediately, then you will be screaming for their head as well.

We literally have to avoid calling zone defenses because our players are bad on the back end.... that's the reality. Our coaching is fine.

Defensive scheme was terrible the whole game, no contested catch's for recievers and limited to no pressure on Richardson

Lol. Not sure what you’re watching my friend but we were in zone all day yesterday and corgi b so not fine we couldn’t have stopped a high school team. If your satisfied with that your still burned form last few years. I would like to take another step. Tim Banks did not call a good game and our secondary is terrible
