Tim Banks needs to go

Seriously defense has been awful all year worst 3rd Dow defense I’ve ever seen he’s a slightly better Sal Sunseri. Purdue didn’t even have their best receiver today
No he doesn’t, keep recruiting and building depth. That’s been the problem all year. Schemes are schemes are schemes whether you are TN or Bama. Build a solid first half lead and don’t let off the gas on either side of the ball

Co-DC….. maybe he sucks…. But he hasn’t had the luxury of a full roster …. The Lb situation is as bare as it can possibly be

Agree. It’s really hard to judge honestly. Like you said, does t have a full roster and little to no depth on the defensive side. All I know is it’s frustrating to watch mediocre teams light us up like that.

Given that we were significantly undermanned from a roster standpoint, I don’t think Banks can be faulted. We lacked pass rushers across the board, which significantly impacted our struggles on 3rd down and in the secondary. Our LBs were adequate to below average at best. Our secondary lacked athletes at both safety and corner. Overall, we played hard defensively. And despite being exciting our tempo offensively didn’t help us at times either.

Worst defense since Sal Sunseri. This was really the varsity vs. the JVs tonight.

Completely outclassed.

It’s not the X’s and O’s, it’s the Jimmies and Joes

Can’t make chicken salad out of chicken $hit

Not gonna win the Kentucky Derby riding a mule

I mean how many of these adages do you need to hear? Banks’ scheme is good.
It's 100% Jimmies and Joe's

Lb and secondary are pretty terrible. We had two INTs directly off scheme, should’ve had a pick six on a third. We don’t have a tremendous front four either. Not sure what some of the fans expect. Players have to execute when there are opportunities.

Burrell was terrible also but some of the PI calls were questionable to say the least.

Really, you turds are gonna blame a defense made up of scraps for not saving an insanely uptempo offense??? The kids busted their butts against some top competition and didn't come out on top. Dumb.....you're just flat out stinking dumb.

This is my issue with blaming coaches currently, absolutely we’ve had mistakes and coaching errors.

Banks and Garner are working with scraps though. You’ve got a decent front four and I mean they’re ok relative to their peers in the conference, LBers are bottom tier, secondary is terrible especially if you take Taylor out of it. If you tell me the defense generates three turnovers, we absolutely should win in that situation. Some of the idiots on here think we can just line up and out talent teams when we’re thin and talent deficient at several positions.

You probably defended Dooley, Butch, sunseri, and Pruitt. If you’re ok with what you’ve seen all year schematically then good for you but those of us with our heads not in the sand are not ok with it.

If you and other casual fans, would just do a little research of the actual games, you can see how the offense continually set them up for failure.

Look at actual scoring drives of UT vs UT defense stops. UT was middle of the conference in actual defensive stops. THE PROBLEM WAS, OUR OFFENSE KEPT GIVING THE OTHER TEAM THE BALL BACK WITH TOO MANY EMPTY OFFENSIVE POSSESSIONS. QUICK EMPTY POSSESSIONS.

To be on topic, yes when the offense goes 3 and our in 15 seconds it’s hard on the defense but I’m satisfied with our scoring output
