You might see it that way but don’t flatter yourself.
The wind blew. That's it
These guys literally stomped out speech in one of the times it was needed most but they've now changed?
People acting in their own self interest isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
I start a business to sell widgets. I care about my success. Some guy comes along that really wants that widget, for himself. He buys it and we both win.
I realize the illustration is quite simple and naive when comparing it to the relationship between Government and the private sector. But if all these guys working together out of selfish desire provides a net benefit to society, good!
I agree.
I suppose the thing that bothers me -- be it left or right -- is those that are so sanctimonious and claim they THEY are acting out of principle but everyone else is just greedy. And then they are eventually exposed, too.
I will give Trump credit for one thing, and that is that he is more above board than most about personal gain he is getting from all of this. Doesn't mean I'm okay with meme coins, fake Swiss watches, and USA Bibles made in China. And I am quite confident he skirts the rules wherever he can on things like using contributions to the inaugural for other purposes that benefit him.
This isn't a catalog or film this was about fully supporting the efforts of a regime that was trampling on basic human rights. Their efforts affected the lives of millions and likely led to many deathsOne credit I'll give them is knowing which way the winds are blowing. They saw what just happened in November and what was happening leading up to it. They have adapted because, much like their businesses, they know when they have to adapt. They are still snakes, but even snakes can recognize danger
I'll certainly keep in mind what once was done and keep a wary eye open as I would hope Trump does. But industries that refuse to adapt (think Sears, Boeing and Kodak) eventually end up on the scrapheap of history. Yes, Boeing is getting there...
Well we may have finally found some agreement here. In my experience people that are sacrificing and pursuing the good of others don’t announce it, they just do it. I’m sure there are politicians and wealthy business owners that truly care about others more than their own self interest. But they most likely lack the willingness to do what it takes to make it to the top of their respective fields. You know, lying, cheating, acting unethically etc.I agree.

I know Trump is a narcissist. Is what it is. My problem, similar to yours, is when people try convince me that Obama isn’t as well.

But they claim to support Trump now so all good?
If you really want to play this game about who suppressed the most information during Covid, that list is going to be absurdly long.
We can start with the government (all branches local, state and federal) that played a guessing game on what to do and went with the most draconian measures they could.
Of course, the MSM is complicit in a huge way.
And why stop there when so many health care professionals declined to prescribe potential life saving measures because of what they had been told. They are part of the problem.
How about education officials that kept kids out of school for "safety" and let a significant mental impact.
The list can go on...
Point is, people have woken up to what was done and changed their tune. Some continue to perpetrate the lies that were told. But you can't sit here and play the blame game on everyone. Eventually, the root cancer needs to be hammered.
Now you're changing the discussion from tech you trust to people to influence the current admin to who have nothing to do with current policy. The fact remains that the ones influencing the current potus absolutely have a record of being against freedoms when asked to be. Dissent was shut down yet they were still seated in the front row yesterday. The fact they switched sides so easily should give everyone pauseIf you really want to play this game about who suppressed the most information during Covid, that list is going to be absurdly long.

I'm thinking that he (due to his position at the advocacy group) had First Amendment concerns with the law itself. But in any case, Congress passed the law, the Supreme Court upheld it, and it's now being ignored . . . because reasons.wait. wasn't the Act to shut down tiktok? and Trump has extended how long it can operate? wouldn't that be the opposite of a 1st amendment issue?
yeah its an issue of not upholding a law, not an issue of the Constitutionality of the law that the tweet seemed to imply.I'm thinking that he (due to his position at the advocacy group) had First Amendment concerns with the law itself.
