TikTok is too influential

It’s just a moral panic de jour. Meta and Google seem to benefit the most and they’re very fed friendly. If the feds have your data there’s a good chance the Chinese do as well and the government I fear most is the closest.

Who is even supposed to be able to buy TikTok? Tech giants are the only realistic and capable options but those kinds of mergers are exactly what everybody wants to avoid

I think Blackrock owns a big piece now. I don’t see Elon coming in. Gotta be Truth Social.

Biden Admin has contacted Apple and Google and told them remove TikTok from the App Store on Jan 19th.

Congressman Michael McCaul who wrote the TikTok Ban Bill invested $1.15 Million into META AFTER writing the Bill‌-

On March 3rd, he authored the TikTok Ban Bill- On March 22nd, he invested $150,000 in META-

On the 26th, he invested another $150,000- On the 28th, he invested another $150,000‌
So about three weeks after writing the TikTok Ban Bill, this man invested $450,000 in TikTok's competitor.‌

Oh, and then what did he do once he saw his TikTok ban was gonna be included with all the Ukraine funding:‌- Well, on April 1st, he invested $350,000 more in META, followed by the fifth where he invested that again.‌

Then about a week later, of course, he voted yes on the bill he wrote.‌

So within the span of 40 days, this dude wrote the TikTok ban bill, proceeded to invest $450,000 in the competitor, and then invested another $700,000, taking his total investment and META at a $1.15 million.‌And then he voted yes.

Now, obviously the word most people are using here is suspicious, but the word we should be using is criminal.‌
This man wrote the f***** bill to ban TikTok, proceeded to invest more than a million dollars in its competitor, whose stock will skyrocket if TikTok actually gets banned, and then voted on the bill to ban it.‌

That's how the game is played. There's a reason few if any people leave congress without being fairly wealthy.

TikTok is too influential
It's a choice whether or not Tik-Tok or any other media presentation has influence on you. I view many social media and other info-platforms (blogs, other forums, free news, etc. etc. etc.). It's simple. Acquire the info, assess it, and choose whether or not it has any relevance (influence). Then move along, wsh, rinse, repeat.

What will all the purple hair folks do if it goes dark Sunday?

Purple hair folks? You mean 140m Americans?

I got a buddy who made $600k in commission off TikTok shop last year. I gotta check in with him. Neither of us thought there'd be anyway this actually happens.

They ban Tiktok, but leave Temu, another Chinese owned company, alone.

its another of the dying regimes last FU to America. they know there was no way the public would have accepted this, so they literally left it to the last day.

the ironic part is Trump is trying to stop it. which shows that he isn't serious about being Anti-China, but also puts a good bit of the users of Tik Tok in a bind with Trump being their only hope.

I watch Tik tok when I am bored. Watched drone coverage and NC flood coverage from actual people in the area. Didn’t see any China stuff. Just citizens posting opinions.

All your info when you sign up, what you watch etc.. goes to the CCP.

I do not have a TikTok membership or whatever they call it. Whenever someone shows me something posted, it's typically Jr. High girls doing silly dances or bouncing off ceiling fans when doing cartwheels.

So it must not be present.

Good observation.

Can I ask an honest question? Do you not think they are already getting it along with our own country?

I go on this site and have a conversation about corvettes with my friend in the living room and suddenly I get corvette adds.

Your phone tracks you. Roku tracks you. Google tracks you. This site has cookies that track you.

I have life lock. My social and DOB are on the dark web. How did they get it? Gov leak in IRS.

Your credit card company sells ur data.

Kroger etc track ur purchase history.

I used to own a marketing company. I had the income, address, email, dob of every TN citizen. 6 cents a record.
