TikTok is too influential

I've said this before in this thread, but I think TikTok was created by the Chinese to shame the West. I don't have a problem banning Chinese spyware that logs and records biometric facial and voice data.

Not to make $? What does that even mean?

It creates a unique environment that promotes stupidity, especially from generation Z. It has proven to the Chinese that many in generation Z are easily malleable and just frankly dumber than a box of rocks. Just google "Dangerous tiktok trends" for proof of that.

BTW, I think making money is most certainly an aspect to it. I think spying on Americans is an aspect as well.

I also think that it is a way for China to infiltrate American culture. They gather data and learn about us through this app, to help them conquer us from within.

It's a moot point anyways because people (at least, the smarter ones) will just download a VPN to bypass the geo-restrictions.

I would also like to rescind my previous comment. Upon further thought, I think it should be the right of every American to voluntarily sign up to display their stupidity on Chinese spyware. We deserve what we get.

I'm pretty sure if Josh Hawley faced a primary or general election right now, he'd get destroyed.

People are pissed over his refusal to grant the waiver.

I have to say this has been mildly interesting. Just the fact that congress outlawed it is kind of amazing to me.

Amazing how everyone is afraid of china, when it’s the American government that is stripping away the first amendment.

Amazing how many congressional members own stock in Meta and have no problem with the “spying” that Facebook does.

Just another power grab by the elite politicians to censor information and content.

It’s sad all the rights and freedoms that we as American citizens have given up since 9/11 and even more since 2020 in the name of “safety”. The government has no business deeming what jobs are essential, which information is misinformation, or what website or platform we gain information from.

We are becoming China.

Even with a VPN you can’t use it

Never been on it and likely won’t. If I did, however, and the Chinese wanted to spy on me, I would defeat China single handedly as they would all die from severe boredom.

Same here. Pics of me doing yard work or in my recliner don't move the needle lol

Sounds like we need to ban it like Trump wanted to do? Personally, I've never been to the site but only heard of it through newscasts. It's just another way to devalue our society and plunge us into depravity.

This was spot on.... until the Tik Tok execs gave Trump some money.
