those are elite athletes, you never ans. my question, did you play ball? i'm guessing not so how in the hell are you an expert on this topic? for the most part on avg, it is a big transition, some adjust quicker than others. the college game is a lot faster, players are a lot more physical, its not like in highschool where a team could have one all state player. in college you have a team of all state players, some better than the others. college is the best of the best hs players. its not like you go out and play some school that has a lot of bums like in hs. think about how many colleges there are, include D1, D2, D3, and NAIA, on every level its a big change. I was D2, and when we played Vandy their players were a lot stronger, and the game was a lot faster. Yes we did get beat by 15, but not bad for a D2 school who only had 2 black guys on their team. we use to schedule a couple of NAIA teams round christmas for some "easy" wins. so don't tell me its not a jump.

It's harder then you think. I tried, didn't cut it either. Kids are faster and more talented then in HS.

I never said it wasn't a jump. It's just not nearly as big as football.

you're welcome, and that's also why I dropped out and join the Army, the Judge had nothing to do with it. :salute:

Just the second time under Coach Pearl that they have scored 80+ and lost. We are still scoring, but our defense has to improve. Our rebounding and free throw shooting need to improve as well.

hatvol have u ever played ball? if you have then you understand how much of a leap it is from the highschool level to the college level. totally diff. game. Chism will be fine, he's just adjusting to the college game. some freshman can jump in and be fine, and others it takes some time. it happens, but he'll be fine.
Yes, I have. I would respond your to post more fully, if I had any reason to do so. If you can provide me with any posts where I said the jump from high school to college wasn't substantial, I'll deign to respond. However, I don't see any correlation between level of play and acting like a petulant child when confronted by a teammate. Now run along, I'm sure there's a Guitar Hero contest you need to prepare for.

Chism is playing well for a freshman, before his days are over at UT he will be awesome. The jump is just as hard in BB as it is football.

Other thoughts on the Vandy game: It was good to see (err...hear) that Ramar had a solid game again. 17 points, including a three with the score tied late in the game, and only 1 turnover again. He also had 4 steals, and 3 assists - although I'd like to see our PG dish out a few more than 3 assists.

Vol Mania just step away from it. The my best friend is a black guy thing just makes it worse.

Back to the game. UT needs to learn to box out especially near the end of the game

No big deal. So what, they had a confrontation? It's not the first time in college basketball history that's happened. I'd rather have guys that care enough to get angry.
i agree 100%. i never worry about the guys that get mad and show it. before you can get mad about something you have to care about it.

i'll take a guy that gets made any day over someone who is apathetic about a given situation.

It also shows that there are members on that team that are willing step up and call someone out possibly. also not a bad thing.

Not many people are paying attention right now, but Randolph Morris is also turning into a real player. He is stronger and quicker than he was last year. So you are completely correct. UT will need one very talented post player and at least one suitable back up to complete the puzzle.

I've seen the 'Cats play a couple of times this year, and from what I've seen, Randolph "Just the fax" Morris does seem to be improved this year. I think he is in better shape. He has had quite a few double-doubles and doesn't always seem to be in foul trouble.

He is avoiding trouble and is learning to pass out of the post. Last year he was so hungry for the ball, once he got it he was taking it up. No questions asked.

Could not have been said better by Bruce after the game. Childress is a liability on a smaller wing player. His guy had a career day when Childress was gaurding him. We did not do a good job of rotating coverage to help him out. Also, we got into foul trouble early on. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, J. Smith looked absolutely horrible.
