i live in nashville and was lucky enough to get tickets. i know it wasn't on TV so its unfortunate that yall had to listen to it on the radio. I don't know if the radio guys said anything about this but Chism and Crews starting pushing one another late in the second half during a timeout. One of the coaches then took back in the tunnel for a long time. i don't know what that was about. And this was the worst game ive seen Jajuan smith play. he hardly played and when he did, he looked horrendous. it just lost all confidence in this game. This is my first post so i hope it isn't too long

Nice post.Let me ask you this, Did Vandy get alot of close calls to go their way tonight?Every time I have been there that seems to be the case.

the first half, the calls were all going vandy's way, but the second half was alot more even. the refs werre pretty bad though. that called a foul on byars one time he just took the ball away from crews while he was standing there, and they said he was in the act of shooting

I was there an it had to be one of the worst called games in a long time. Every time we drove to the basket Vandy would hack us or knock us down. A joke. Then I'm not sure what happened with the clock at the end but they got more than the 4.7 the had after we made the basket....a slow start on the clock killed us.

that was a good steal by byars. that was a very bad call.

Doesn't make up for the many they missed on them. I can remember Childress driving and some vu player fouling him with the body on the shot and there was not call. then there was the shot clock violation on us with 27.7 left. how can there by no foul called on them then. oh, well. If we hit FT's and box out..we are not talking about this...

That's not good if Childress and Crews were pushing each other. Anyone else hear or see anything on this?

No big deal. So what, they had a confrontation? It's not the first time in college basketball history that's happened. I'd rather have guys that care enough to get angry.

It was a big deal and probably the reason Chism played like trash down the stretch and costs us the game.

No. He's young and learning how to play the game unselfishly with 4 other guys.
If he's distracted by a little confrontation on the bench, I can't wait to see his mental state after Al Horford or Randolph Morris jams an elbow in his face. I've always had suspicions about a big guy so enamored with the three point shot. This just confirms what I thought.

Charles Rhodes ate his lunch in the Mississippi State game. Western Kentucky has no inside game. How many did Boggan hang on us in the OSU game? Texas is playing freshmen inside as well.

He stood to everyone so far. Not by himself, though. Duke Crews takes a pounding as well.

Boggan had like 20. He was in foul trouble, right?
Yes. He owned the game when he was on the floor, but that's to be expected with a senior playing against freshmen. I'm being a little tough on Wayne. I don't take losses to Vanderbilt very well.

I listened to the game and if we make both ends of our freethrows and we play a little better on the defensive end and JuJuan showed up. Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda...you get the point. As far as Wayne and Duke, thats good let them get after one another, it will only make them stronger. This ain't the A-Sun baby.

I do laugh at the trash that Noah takes on this board, but one of the keys to Florida's success is a page right out of Rick Pitino's book. Depth plus a big man that can run the floor= success in the press and transition game.

Not many people are paying attention right now, but Randolph Morris is also turning into a real player. He is stronger and quicker than he was last year. So you are completely correct. UT will need one very talented post player and at least one suitable back up to complete the puzzle.

hatvol have u ever played ball? if you have then you understand how much of a leap it is from the highschool level to the college level. totally diff. game. Chism will be fine, he's just adjusting to the college game. some freshman can jump in and be fine, and others it takes some time. it happens, but he'll be fine.

This Vanderbilt loss is almost like 2 league losses in my opinion. We have to manage to beat all the Slaw Dog teams in the league. Vanderbilt is a bottom dweller. They are one of the teams that you identify at the first as teams we WILL beat twice. Too make up for a loss to a lower league team it almost forces you to beat Florida, Arkansas or Kentucky on the road. The boys competed awfully hard, but we have to beat Slaw teams. What does everyone else think?

Going from highschool to college in basketball isn't all that great of a leap, really.
