Excited for it. Meaningful games. Only 2 cupcakes. We are in for some potentially great football games. Favorable with home schedule next year.
Let's go make history and announce our return to top tier with prejudice!
there are several cupcakes on our schedule. Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, South Carolina.

Auburn has talent and playing at Williams Brice isn’t easy. Arkansas always plays us tough. We always beat UK, but it’s not like we’re going to Chestnut Hill or Purdue or Piscataway. That’s cupcake city.

Good news for us is that Bama plays UGA the weekend before they come to Knoxville, while we play at Arkansas. That’s a tough, physical and emotionally draining 2 weeks.

Not sure I would consider all cupcakes. Arky - KY but I think Golesh will have Auburn much better than a cupcake. Not saying we can't beat them but we will see a mirror of Heuple's O with a guy that can run it as well as he can. Vols have always struggled at SC or some reason. But hope your right.

I'm not counting any home game as a loss (despite this year). Texas, Bama, and LSU i can say are toss ups. I think we will get at least 1, probably 2 of those. A&M is going to be a loss. Marcel Reed is coming back.

Auburn and Kentucky are terrible and at home, both should be easy wins. Arkansas and South Carolina are both bad as well, but on the road, but i think we can and should win both. Vandy most likely will be bad again next year given most of their team is gone, but i guess you never know. I still favor us in that one, with a little payback in mind.

8-4 feels like the floor, 9-3 likely, 10-2 possible. I think the over/under would be 8.5 wins.

Also pretty much impossible to know what everyone's roster will look like with the Transfer portal. If we get a big time QB in the portal, that raises our ceiling tremendously.

Arky, UK and Auburn all have 1st year head coaches. I suspect we beat them all by multiple scores.

the Vols have not always struggled at SC. not until we fired Fulmer and started hiring bafoons as HC while they had none other than Steve Spurrier.

Next years win/loss total will be all about injuries. The first 6 games are very manageable, tough games at home and some easy wins to start. I see 6-0 or 5-1 in the first 6 games. The second half of the season will be all about who is healthy and how the defense plays. the second half of the season could get ugly Bama, aTm and LSU (yes with Lane) are all possible losses. I put in another chat that I see 2026 being an 8-4 type of year just because of the schedule, new coaches, new D scheme and who know what in the transfer portal.

This is a wild thread. Do we suck? Are we average? Are we good? We are in the SEC. This is quite an easy SEC schedule (with no massively challenging OOC games) in my opinion. Many of the more challenging SEC games are at home. With the resources, NIL $, fanbase, etc that we have and a coach that will be in his 6th year...do we not expect 10-2 and a playoff birth? Some of us expect 6-6? If we go 6-6 next year then do we fire everyone? Or is that what some are hoping for? I am so confused with our all over the place expectations. Someone said the first half of the schedule is challenging? HUHHHH??? How in the world so?

One thing might be a little disappointing is that I’m willing to bet the mortgage that Texas will be a 3:30 game . LSU plays at Ole Miss that same day. No way that’s not primetime.
That will be hilarious after Kiffin bitched so much about Ole Miss never getting to host that game at night, while LSU always gets it at night in Baton Rouge. Then the first time he goes to Oxford as LSU’s coach, he has to play them at night.
