Those calling for Fulmer's head

I guess Florida is pissed about their bowl selection this year aren't they? Hat, I've heard you complain about not winning the SEC more than once. Are you saying that winning the SEC is not a "prize" for winning your division?
I don't think Auburn was thrilled with their bowl position in 2004.

It's not the ultimate prize. However, it should be the goal. Winning your conference is totally within your hands. As Auburn proved in '04, the National Championship isn't necessarily something you have control over.
you have 0 control over it. the only thing we control year in and year out is winning the East 1st and winning the CG second. After that it's in someone else's hands.

Anyway, my point is that through your eyes, any coach in college football or NFL who won their division has accomplished something as long as his last name isn't Fulmer. Then, it's just drop in the bucket.

Preach on Brother.
well, i'm not one that is on the "fire fulmer" thing just yet...i think a lot of what's happened the past couple of days is a huge over reaction to a piss poor bowl game.

but having said that, i don't think fulmer is bigger than the program either...and if he is to be gone...i'd love to see what either of those guys could do with the kind of talent we get here...would be real interesting to see.

just dont' go fire the guy and tell me CDC, CJC, or some other lame duck guy is going to be our new HC.

If we get rid of him, we better hit a homerun with the replacement.

if we merely bump Cut or Chavis up we really haven't done anything.

No, that's inaccurate. Winning anything in the NFL takes a level of skill that most college coaches, especially a rube like Haystacks Fulmer, can't even begin to fathom. Also, when I mention what Bob Stoops has done at OU, I don't ever remember touting the 2003 South Division title as a part of his resume.

Of course, "Big XII South title" is synonymous with "Victory in the Red River Shootout." Own that game for the amount of time they did, and it's a good accomplishment.

It wasn't synonymous with a Shootout victory this year.

Well first off finally a site i can release some agression on the vols where other people understand!!!!....Ill just make this first post of mine short and sweet......Something i would like to mention noone else ever does is..Tennessee the largest crowd capacity in college football next to Michigan, Some of the highest ticket prices in all of college football a full workout indoor arena, and an overpaid no emotion showing coach....What im getting at is this its sad that tennessee football cant produce any better results than it does year after year after year ohh yea we won a national championship in 98 but think back we beat arkansas and florida that year by pure luck last second LUCK...but back to my point tennessees program has the fans has the facility has the money to back its program WHY I MEAN WHYYYYY CANT we be a USC or an Ohio State team that seems to always be in the mix no matter what USC never has a rebuilding year and thats all ****ing tennessee has FULMER HAS TO GO WE NEED TO GET OVER THIS JOHNNY MAJORS RUN UP THE MIDDLE ON THE FIRST 2 DOWNS TO ESTABLISH A SLOW SCORING NON PRODUCING RUN GAME THAT coach fulmer has to have or he cant win.......Anyway i say its time like Alabama Like Kentucky like the other college teams out there firing the coaches to restructure the whole program...And people say ohh Phillip wins games....WHAT what kind of games the big ones well i say big i mean the pitiful bowl games we get invited to only because of our huge fan base do we even get invited to them we need a coach that can utilize our talent here we had the best receiving core recruited several years back and they produced nothing....WE NEED A COACH WITH SOME EMOTIONS LIKE BRUCE PEARL HAS FOR OUR BASKETBALL TEAMMMMMMMM OFF WITH HIS HEAD PHILLIP AKA JOHNNY MAJORS WANNA BE FULMER....

I don't like Petrino. Did anyone see the L'ville/ Kentucky games in recent past. He has a a personal vendetta against them. I know there hated rivals but they'd be ABSOLUTLEY killing Kentucky and still have Brohm and all the starters in the game going vertical with the ball.

That's just ridiclious. I don't like that guy but with that being said he's a good coach.

Think about who in the Hell are we going to get to replace him...love him hate him were would TENNESSEE BE? 98 championship I DOUBT IT...........

there are number of coached that could take the mighty vols to 9 and 4 seasons.......

So you don't like Petrino for that, but you like Gruden who can be seen screaming "God Da--it" every other second?

Before the 2004 season, Urban Meyer was an unknown.
Before this season, Chris Petersen and Greg Sciano were unknowns.

Ever season brings new candidates.
