I know we hate to admit it, but that year wasn't the greatest in college football. We kind of snuck into that title. Ohio State was probably a better team than we were that year.
We will continue to see 8-10 win seasons with Fulmer. He's a decent coach, but he's not what the program needs. Give Alabama credit for pulling out all the stops to get a top-notch coach. If UT is serious about winning, we need to follow Alabama's lead when it comes to looking for a coach.
Something is wrong when Kentucky is better at football than basketball and UT is better at basketball than football.
Fulmer lost my respect when he let Hefney walk right past him as he was chewing him out and didn't snag him up by the facemask. You can't let players run the team like that. I hear about all this NFL talent they recruit every year and all I see is NFL attitude.

I don't really think he's had the talent to do much with.
If you think a depleted D from his Super Bowl year and Brian Griese, Chris Simms, and Shaun King are going to get you back there then well that would take more than an outstanding coach.
I didn't say Kentucky was better than UT at football, I said that Kentucky football was better than Kentucky basketball and UT basketball was better than UT football at the present moment. Kentucky basketball fans must feel like UT football fans, we have the Tubby Smith of college football. As for what Fulmer said to Hefney he was locked in on him yelling and no matter what he said the player should acknowledge the coach when he speaks. Look him in the eye, don't keep your head down and keep walking past him as if he wasn't there.
Not always. If UT wins the '04 championship game, they wouldn't have been in the National Championship Game.
It's not the ultimate prize. However, it should be the goal. Winning your conference is totally within your hands. As Auburn proved in '04, the National Championship isn't necessarily something you have control over.I guess Florida is pissed about their bowl selection this year aren't they? Hat, I've heard you complain about not winning the SEC more than once. Are you saying that winning the SEC is not a "prize" for winning your division?
