Compare Fromm and Eason’s freshman years. Eason went 8-4 and Fromm went to the playoffs. Fromm never did anything to give back the job after the injury. Kirby and Chaney then wanted to ride Fromm over fields because of where he took them the year before. It’s an easy call in hindsight, but not so cut and dry then. Coley and Fromm have issues because coley was vocal about wanting fields over Fromm.Eason should have played after he was healthy. He didn’t because Kirby was an idiot.
UGA didn't go to the playoffs based off Fromms QB play.Compare Fromm and Eason’s freshman years. Eason went 8-4 and Fromm went to the playoffs. GA fans would love this thread. Vol fans trashing the coach they ain't scared of b/c he's had 3 elite QBs to choose from and in our opinion, he chose the worst. Then followed up by a trip to Atlanta and collossal 2 loss season. All this after barely squeaking by the Vols 2 years in a row by only 30 or 40.points each time. Last year we not only got shut out in a 41 point loss in front of our home crowd, but the worst humiliation was Mr. Non- scary taking his foot off the gas for the 4th Q, so it wouldn't look even worse!
I dread the day that UGA gets a coach that scares y'all. I can't even fathom what that's gonna be like. This is PRECIOUS guys!![]()
And the fact that Fromm had UGA rolling. Once again, you don't change or fix what isn't broken. With your logic, you are saying that the reason UGA didn't finish off the Natty was because of QB play.....
Fromm literally was perfect his entire freshman season.
Bingo. I happen to live in Warner Robins home of Jake Fromm and Marquez Callaway. I actually think Jake Fromm has been handicapped by the GA staff. If u are going to pick a guy at QB and ride with him u should cater to his strengths. I've seen the kid in person vs powerhouses in ga and he has IT. He came from a spread uptempo offense. He is the 3rd most prolific passer in GSHA history behind Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawerence. I know they have always been a power run team but they should have used him better.
Kelly Bryant didn’t take Clemson to the natty. They lost to bama in the semi’s. Fromm hadn’t done anything to warrant being benched. Fields looked lost when running UGA’s offense his freshman year. Ryan Day even said they went with a simpler offense so Fields could pick it up. Benching your starter who took your team to the natty the year before for a freshman who’s never taken a collegiate snap isn’t as cut and dry as some ppl are trying to make it seem. You may want to consider what Clemson did last year and won the nc. They changed qb. The qb they replaced took them to the nc game. If any player can play better they should play. It paid off for Clemson last year.
Agree 100%...and since we've been an eternally "young" team, some of the frosh/soph's will have had time to mature for us. Definitely like the challenging late game...something that, as we build, can develop into one of those late season grudge matches.I like getting jawja later in the season next year. They seem to start strong and dwindle down the stretch
Comparing tape will prove Eason is by far the better qb and Kirby had to see that. Eason takes more chances but he is an absolute stud playmaker. I believe UGA wins 2 of the last 3 Nattys, maybe all three, with Eason. Kirby chose safe over great.Compare Fromm and Eason’s freshman years. Eason went 8-4 and Fromm went to the playoffs. I think this is where Pruitt will have to line up next year. By all appearances, Bailey seems to be top shelf. Not saying he's a game 1 starter. Ideally, JG takes control on his senior season, but if not, it appears Pruitt has some pretty good choices to get in the game. He's paid to make the right decision...just hope he doesn't favor experience over "who's the best"...sometimes, it's tough to tell from practice. You may want to consider what Clemson did last year and won the nc. Eason has a better arm for sure, but Fromm still did what Eason couldn’t. Fromm led the offense much better than Eason did as a frosh. Eason is also a statue in the pocket, which hurts him as well. Eason certainly wasn’t the difference between natty or no natty for UGA in 2017 and 2018. Eason was hurt in 2017 and Fromm played lights out. Fromm threw for 300 and 3/0 against bama in the SECC they lost, so I don’t think QB play can be blamed there either.Comparing tape will prove Eason is by far the better qb and Kirby had to see that. I’ll never forget Eason’s Hail Mary, 70 yards in the air on the money. Gaulden was vilified for checkin up, he thought he was getting a pick, he didn’t believe Eason could throw it that far. Fromm would have needed a 3-iron and a wedge.
Eason can do things that Fromm most every other qb can’t. He’s a playmaker that can carry a team. I believe he’s the best NFL qb prospect in the country. Better than Tua and Lawrence. And the fact that Fromm had UGA rolling. Once again, you don't change or fix what isn't broken. lol your hyperbole is a bit ridiculous. First, he couldn’t have won 3 natty’s because he didn’t come close his freshman year and he was going pro after his junior year. Second, he was hurt his sophomore season and his backup played better than he did and never gave the job back. Last, if he had such carry potential, why wasn’t he able to do it in a weak PAC-12?Eason can do things that Fromm most every other qb can’t. He’s a playmaker that can carry a team. I also believe UGA win 2 Nattys maybe three in a row with Eason at qb. Should have been the starter as soon as he was healthy, Kirby screwed up, twice if you consider Fields. And it’s gonna bite the dogs for another couple years.
Eason would have absolutely torched Bama’s defense the last two season. With UGA’s o-line and running game, that could have been a very special offense, similar to LSU this season.Eason has a better arm for sure, but Fromm still did what Eason couldn’t. Eason has put up lackluster numbers against elite defenses his entire career. There’s no way to know if he could’ve matched fromm’s numbers against bama, but Fromm’s play wasn’t the reason UGA lost that game. If Eason is as good as you’re making him out to be then he should’ve dominated the Pac12 and he didn’t. If Eason never got hurt things probably turn out differently regarding Eason and Fromm, but Eason did get hurt and Fromm came in and had a better freshman year than Eason.Eason would have absolutely torched Bama’s defense the last two season. I believe UGA wins in 2017 with a healthy Eason, again in 2018 and, would be in the CFP this season.
Eason did carry the Huskies. They lost almost every thing and this was a rebuilding year. They still hung with the likes of Utah and Oregon.lol your hyperbole is a bit ridiculous. Eason struggles when he doesn’t get protection. UW’s o-line was brand new this year. UGA could have protected him and he would have lit it up. Stats and records don’t tell the story. For those understands and who can see beyond the numbers, Eason is an NFL qb and much more talented than Fromm.Eason has put up lackluster numbers against elite defenses his entire career. Eason is not that great and was not even the best QB in the defensively weak PAC 12. Fields fits OSU’s offense perfectly, not Georgia’s. Kirby made the right call. Can’t comprehend the home loss to SC, but they’ve had a good year other wise.
Also, look at Richt’s record - I hope Pruitt is the next Richt
