Wrong. Eason was injured. I believe the rift between Smart and Chaney was over going with Fromm. I think Kirby went with the safe Fromm.

That is simply because of the loss of Jim Chaney to Tennessee. The offensive line gets worse with the loss of Pittman as Arkansas head coach.

Fromms regression came along after Chaney left.

Agree. Fromm is an excellent QB. Dude lost his OC and WRs from last year. He had Bama on the ropes twice and wasn't his fault they lost. Fromm is solid and a better game manager than Eason was and a better fit that Fields was. I hate Georgia but Fromm is good.

Eason was 7th in the PAC 12 in yards per game and passing efficiency this past year. So to answer your question, pick any of the 6 QBs above him. Not that good - just big and can throw really far.

That played into it but in a minor way,imo. UGA had to dismiss their top returning receiver before the season even started and really had hardly any experienced receivers returning. That's likely the biggest reason Fromme seems to have regressed.

Are there 6 qbs ahead of him in draft rating? Eason is head and shoulders above Fromm. End of story.

I feel you didnt really have to be a "Great Coach " to beat us the last 10yrs. Kirby yes has had a top recruiting class, but with all those 5* what has it got him? Beat by Texas, and will lose to Baylor. Kirby has been successful (IMO) because the rest of the east has sucked for sometime now. Times are changing i do believe. Anyway Ga has a Ohio St mouth with a Vandy trophy case period. Go Vols

Maybe so. All I know is that the VD crowd in Athens was all over making him the guy.

From a regression is partly due to other teams in college football getting better on defense

We should find out this year what kind of program Kirby has. Kirby was very complimentary in his coaching style to what Reich left him. All those players are now gone so it’s what Kirby has recruited and coached now.
Next year Florida will be a real challenge for him, we should be much more competitive so we’ll see what kind of character that team will have.

Bingo. I happen to live in Warner Robins home of Jake Fromm and Marquez Callaway. I actually think Jake Fromm has been handicapped by the GA staff. If u are going to pick a guy at QB and ride with him u should cater to his strengths. I've seen the kid in person vs powerhouses in ga and he has IT. He came from a spread uptempo offense. He is the 3rd most prolific passer in GSHA history behind Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawerence. I know they have always been a power run team but they should have used him better.
