This Should Have Been a 10-win Season

JG just seems to be a true dual-threat QB that UT molded into a pro-style QB. I think running the ball would would loosen him up some and improve his throwing accuracy. Success running might improve his confidence and momentum.

However, his inability to not "stare-down" a receiver is down right uncanny. The IN DBs were simply reading his eyes and following his head motion. It's a wonder he didn't have 2-3 more picks. Thankfully, from the video I've seen, HB is very good at "looking off" DBs in favor or a receiver. He is a true pro-style QB.

I'm not making excuses for JG. I too wish he would move on. He fit CBJ's philosophy (which is still the philosophy at Cincy).

You realize he isn't a dual threat right? That guy has never been a rushing threat.......

The thing I noticed about Guarantano last night was how he was a little high on at least two throws to the end zone, the fades to Calloway were just a little too long, and on two occasions, he threw to a receiver who was covered, when if he looks right, he had Palmer running into the end zone wide open. He just locks on to a particular receiver and doesn't look for another option. That almost cost them the game last night.

We need our guys to spend more time in the weight room and less time in the tattoo parlor.

JG wasn't the problem in the first 2 games. The defense just didn't show up for GS and ran out of gas against the Mormons.

Probably more like at 9 win season. With wins against ga state and BYU, we more than likely get a tougher bowl game. And if we play like we did last night we wouldn’t have won it

Anything but a dual threat. Not sure what they saw there coming out of Highschool but it never materialized.

*9 wins
If we went 9-3 we would have went to the Outback and Minnesota would have rowed that boat over us and beaten us silly with Gopher oars for 60 minutes

You are right, he has never been a duel threat even in hs. Just a hyped up ranking. I think he rushed for 200 yards his whole senior season, with only 11 td. Somehow he got good rankings, maybe because of camps he attended.

Appears to me he can not process what he is seeing. He knows when he goes to the line that he is going to throw the ball to X ans he either forces it to X or he hits the check down IF he has not waited too long. He does not appear to be going through progressions. This could be due to how rushed he was two years ago and maybe he can not reset his mental clock to realize he has a little more time.

And honestly, if we had Dobbs or another competent QB we could have stole one from Bama too.

Imagine Pruitt pulling off 11-2 this season! Too bad but saving it to go 8-5 counts for something.
