This is a problem for JH and the staff

Joey spoke truth. That's Heupel's fault, but folks don't want to hear that
There’s some secrets that need to stay in the family. This is NOT one. Joey was not out of bounds with his comments. Crap, we all see the lack of discipline in team play. That comes from habits developed in practice.

How many times just this year have we seen a false start kill a drive, a PI on 3rd and long gift the opponent, or an offsides give up a 1st down...yet I can't ever recall seeing a player come to the sideline and have a coach or team mate in has face.

Instead it's hand claps, pat on the backside, "snap and clear", and do better next time.

Never see Day doing that, or Saban doing that, or Dabo doing that kind of thing.

I've said it before this year...I had the opportunity to go see IU play this year and saw their best receiver, Surrat, drop a ball. Cignetti met him 5yds from the sideline and chewed on him until the sideline. IU was leading by 3 scores at the time. Next series, Surrat goes to the house.
Heupel is scared to get on a player and they know it!!!! I want a coach to light into their tail if needed!

Someone give him his Ozempic shots, put it on a schedule, and he needs to quit looking like a slob. Act like you're a professional. There's a lot that needs to be cleaned up besides just your appearance.
yall being obsessed with his weight while Tennessee has the highest obesity rate for kids is hilarious. Yall got a bunch of fat kids and family members but focused on another man is so comical.

That’s obviously one of them. He gives off an aura of “I’m a slob.” The worst is that gum chomping during an interview.

If I didn’t know and was in a room with Josh, I’d never guess his was HC of a major program.

There are some great motivational coaches out ther. Heupel is not one. He needs to get someone on his staff who is and who will light up players asses (and his).
LSU Just got rid of a guy like that

Yes. When was the last time you saw Josh Heupel chew a player out for missing an assignment or committing a bone-headed penalty? I can’t recall a single time. This team does not play disciplined, fundamentally sound football and that goes back to coaching and practice.
I was at the game and I watched Clark Lea chew a refs ass for 55 minutes. The entire Vandy sideline was rabid. Staff, players, trainers were all ready for a fist fight. The UT side had little to no life, no bark, no hype, just one foot in front of the other.

There’s the problem

Why didn't you do YOUR PART and try to get after Pavia?

CJH's teams here have consistently lacked discipline. Not sure what it is exactly, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with his dressing and shaving habits.. A clean shaved face, a suit and tie doesn't instill discipline....

Maybe it's as simple as this, stop being their buddy and start being their coach.

I don’t like the guy, but I recall a game where Bama was beating someone like 45-3 or something. Absolute massacre. A kid on Bama committed a procedure penalty and Saban absolutely melted down on the sideline. The takeaway? Winners want perfection all of the time. Heupel is a decent coach but he does not hold the players or the refs accountable.

Not what he said. Give it another listen. It’s an old and true adage… you play as you practice. This staff has problems with drilling discipline and the results are quantitative.

I listened well. He said nothing that any player on any team that has lost, hasn’t said before.

It was the basic “we have to practice harder” routine.

This is why I believe we didn’t have that alpha male hard a$$ leader. Don’t get me wrong, these seniors helped move the program way up compared to where they started but I don’t think they had the guys that demanded perfection every day. That’s on the coaches too but players have to lead.
