There’s a reason he got a 6 year deal. I’m sure it wasn’t just given out but there’s a reason he got a 6 year deal.

Another factor- our best players just happen to be his recruits. Outside of Chandler, Callaway, and Jennings, the only other bright spots are his guys. This may be shocking to some but freshmen and sophomores when surrounded by other freshmen and sophomores are likely to make mistakes.

Last- I don’t remember the consensus with pro Pruitt folks being all “he deserves 5 years”.... I do think 4-5 years was expected when signing him but the season to really start judging him fairly is when he has the overwhelming majority of the roster and two deep made up of his recruits.

Look at North Carolina. 2-0. With a brand new coach that’s been outta coaching several years. It Doesn’t take 5 years to rebuild all this gotta get his guys is a excuse. Period

I agree. Pruitt needs at least 3 more seasons. Preferably 7-10 more seasons.

Nobody with a track record of success as a HC is going to want the UTjr job. You’re going to have to get an up and coming coordinator or HC from a smaller school.

Its mind bottling that there are so many Nimrods that think we would hire a proven winner ...if we could afford him and if he wanted to come here . Hell, many say Leach is a proven winner, Leach could get it done here, they would be happy with him AND he WANTED to come here. Repeat, He Wanted to come here.

To counter your point, the only good players we have outside of Jennings, Callaway and Chandler are Pruitt recruits.

Shouldn’t be hard to sell to guys we are still in the mix with and the guys we currently have committed.

How does one intelligently (hard for the sunshine pumping machine) compare the GS coach to CP? Is he [GS coach] just that much better at motivation, game planning, team/player management, than CP? If no, what happened-in real terms? If yes, then there is at least on coach we've ID'd that can do a better job, I'll bet there are more...

Dooley's teams balled out. Those guys broke down after painful losses and pretty much had to be scraped up off the field. Not sure what the point is. Pruitt has to win. He's going backwards. This is not improvement. If you think it is, you're just wrong but I'll let you lean on the BVS excuse as long as you want. We all deserve that.

Agreed - at this point, Pruitt < Dooley. Even Dooley got to a bowl in year 1 and never lost to a Georgia State level team.

The question isn't if the DC can put guys in the right position as much as it is if they will stay there when the ball is snapped. It is not the DCs fault if the player lets the WR blow past him.

Well, actually it is, as he did not put the right guy in the right position, and if he has players not willing to play, or not up to UT standards, then it is his fault for not IDing that player, either coach him up to standards, or bring along a player that wants to play.
