I had to replace the battery on the old van recently. Walmart battery. I found out that if it is still under warranty you get a free replacement BUT the warranty on the new one expires when the old battery warranty would have expired. So my new battery warranty expires in 3 months instead of 2 years. If you just buy new and drop off the old one for the core, you get the full warranty.Truck battery is shot
Been acting weak, almost didn't start after work. Got it on charge, I'll have to go get one later.

That's one way to do itWell for one, I don't keep them long enough
Since 2020, the wife's Traverse is the longest we've owned a vehicle which we bought in 2022 (has just over 50,000).
The most miles I've put on a vehicle is about 65,000ish miles (that was our Honda Ridgeline). Though I did have a Civic Si that was in that range as well.
Most battery's are reconditioned now days, unless you buy an AGM or lithium or a new vehicle, they are required to have new battery.$250 for a battery for my truck, just crazy. Last time was $200, and didn't last 4 years. I remember when you could get a battery that'd last for years, and much cheaper. I know prices go up, but the quality has hit bottom.
